I like dolls of many different kinds. I think they are beautiful and it is nice that you collect porcelain ones. :) Can't wait to see your pics! How many do you own?

Personally I would love to start a doll collection of my own, but it's too expensive of a hobby for me, times being what they are.

Value Village is a year round garage sale, I never paid more then 15 bucks for one, and it came with a stand and they're always in really good condition
I own 4 as of now, probably will be 5 by the end of the week

Aww she's so cute! Reminds me of Claudia from the Interview with the Vampire movie! :) I'm sorry if this is a weird question, but do you like to give your dolls names or even personalities? Or do you like them for aesthetic purposes only?

I don't have a Value Village where I live, but I know of a thrift store nearby that sells porcelain dolls. Maybe I should check the prices next time I go.

I have 5. I think I bought all five back in 2001 as suvenirs from the place I was vacationing in. They are small but one of them is visibly bigger than the rest of them and she's the only one with moving limbs - the other dolls can move only their arms because their legs don't move and they are in a sitting position. The biggest one is dressed in a green dress and a bonnet adorned with lace, then come: the doll dressed in white and two others dressed in green as well and one in a red dress and white pinacore - this one has braids and a straw hat on her head. They all sit in a row on a shelf above my aquarium.

Do you like Dolfie's Kilroy?

I have held myself back from getting addicted to them as they are very cool

Image

you buy all the bits seperatly (hair, eyes, body, clothes) then fit them together yourself. Some people make videos of them too, very addictive

yeah they're cool, gonna get one, one of these days-I wanted to make one look like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys, but that would require altering of the mouth lol
what I really want is one of these
the ball jointed dolls (super dollfie), they cost an effton
(this specific one) though this one is a special one and comes like that, and only like that

Aww Kilroy I think it's sweet that you give names to your dolls... I would (or should I say will?) do the same for mine. What was the name of the one whose picture you posted? Also, I'm curious... What got you started on your love for dolls? I mean... what made you decide you wanted to start collecting them?

the anime Rozen Maiden-if you don't know what that is, its basically Highlander with dolls, the one i posted up there (the red one) is a doll made after one of the characters Shinku
who is a living ball jointed doll on the show
I saw one at the store, was reminded of it, bought it, and began to like collecting them

that one is Sherry
