Purposely Misspelled words

Does anybody else get irritated by words being miss-spelled on purpose?

It really bugs me everytime I see it but even more so when the spelling is no shorter or even worse is longer!

Just a few examples I hate are things with a z where the s should be, kewl and hawt - what's the point??

The only word that I misspell is welcome like Welkome. I know what you mean about the words that you are talking about. It makes me wonder if the English language is evolving or regressing.

I feel like flamethrowing people who type like that.

The first word I thought of when I saw this thread was hawt.

On a side note, did you know that the spell checker does NOT accept ginormous as a word, but will accept wginormous (but on a different website)...that made me laugh.

Sometimes I enjoy misspelling words.

I hate when people spell like lyk this. I always consfuse lyk for lick.

"I lyk dogs"
"Ewww...you lick dogs?!"
"No I like them, not lick them?"
"Oh I get it!"

I think it's just a kind of natural evolution really considering the Internet at turning into a Type I civilization...

not to get your sense of spelling messed up, but it's the natural progression of language... people make it simpler, streamline it and make it easier to spell out, but don't tell me you can't read the above sentence... it's written more or less how you pronounce it, like Japanese or Finnish...

i like putting the letter x where it doesn't belong.

it's a waste of time to spell politics with two letters at the end.
even more a waste of time to put "cks" at the end of anything when x will suffice. i'll also sometimes spell you're "yre" and your "yr" and omit apostrophes in a contraction that can't be mistaken for another word.

but if someone else does this kind of thing i'm usually annoyed. except when nick007 spells "reason" "rezone" which i think is cute.

it also annoys me when someone uses the word "purposely" instead of "deliberately" . sorry ..
i'm sure i do plenty of annoying things.

I have grammar nazi tendencies, so it annoys me a great deal when people deliberately misspell words as part of an ongoing fad. For example, adding on more letters than necessary at the ends of words (likeeeeee thisssssssss) annoys the sh*t out of me.
