I thought as we are all from different places around the world, and as many of us enjoy languages, it might be interesting to try a thread sharing our local dialects such as common phrases or sayings, and a little information on our local accents. The idea came to me after watching a video of hale_bopp (the kitty video =^_^=) and my boyfriend commenting that he somehow knew what her accent would be before he had heard her speak.
Technically speaking I am a Geordie - from Newcastle, North East England - although I don't tend to define myself as one that often and don't have a strong Geordie accent, but apparently have a far stronger accent then I realise. The dialect interests me because it sounds so totally foreign when you hear it from someone who speaks broad Geordie, and I also like that our accent is quite guttural, similar to that of a German accent...after only a few months/years it's almost impossible to tell a German from a fellow Geordie.
A nice non-threatening Geordie as an example, Mr Ross Noble
(long hair) and Mr Alexander Armstrong;

English: Yes, or general enthusiastic agreement.
Geordie: Y'areet, hinny?
English: Are you all right, darling?
Geordie: Ahm gannin hyem (my personal favourite)
English: I'm going home
Geordie: Ye knaa what ah mean leik.
English: Do you know what I mean?
Geordie: Divn't
English: Don't
