If I visit you, where will you take me?
If I could, I would drop everything and just travel everywhere.
Take me on a magical mystery tour or a magic carpet ride please and show me your town. What will you show me? Who would you introduce me to? When can I nap only after I've done a "must"? Where will you take me for breakfast, lunch or dinner? Why are you taking me to that particular place you're taking me to? Etc, etc, etc.
I'll start.
I live in Orange County, California.
If you're interested, I'll take you to a theme park (not necessarily in Orange County alone). We can go to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm or Magic Mountain.
I'll introduce you to Grisha who is also a member here and is also my neighbor.
You can take a nap only after you've had some yogurt and toppings at Yogurtland.
For lunch, I will drive us many miles just to have roast chicken at CA Chicken Cafe. Their fresh squash is delicious. For dinner, we shall eat hotdogs at Jerry's Dogs and have to-die-for hot potato chips.
And I'll want to take you to one of the beaches here simply because it's peaceful just to stare out into the ocean. I won't know how to get to any of them, but yay for GPS!
You can make the trip as long or as short as you want. I'm more curious than anything else to get a feel for your town.
Thanks for the ride! (And no, not a ride in that sense.)

You left out Hatam Persian Restaurant at the corner of La Palma and Brookhurst.
There is also hiking north past Sepulveda Dam and Mount Wilson. In fact, if you can make it to the top of Mt. Wilson, there's the Observatory.
Santa Monica Pier is fun - rides, arcades, and carnival food.
Then there's Little Saigon in Westminster - pleasant enough, but you may need a Vietnamese translator.
Lots to do in the OC!

And your hometown sounds beautiful.
And thanks.
Fnord, I love Persian food. I was at Darya's in Orange again today after having gone only last week.
And Vigilans, I already know Montreal is my favorite city!

- On the first day, we would leave early to Cleveland to stop at the Cleveland Museum of Art, but not before eating a home-cooked breakfast! In my humble opinion, there isn't any great breakfast places around here, and I enjoy cooking for people
. For lunch, we'll stop at Slyman's so you can sample some of the best corned beef sandwiches ever! To aid digestion, we'll take a trip to Headlands Beach State Park and enjoy the beach of salt-less waters. When we've had enough sun and a nap, we can head our way to Zappitelli's Italian restaurant. If you have enough room after that feast, we could get ice cream at East Coast Custard.
-The second day we'll go to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. For lunch we can stop at The West Side Market and we can get our favorite, fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, et cetera grown from local farms. After preparing everything back at home, we can go on a picnic at Squire's Castle, and then hike on the miles of trails on the property. After our legs have tired, we can go on a nice cruise around the beautiful countryside/Lake Erie coastline until we are ready for dinner. If you like Japanese, we'll stop at Sumo Boy and eat some delicious sushi rolls.
-The third day we MUST go to the Great Lakes Science Center. For lunch, we can indulge in the most delectable, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches at Melt Bar & Grilled. Afterwords, we'll take a small trip to Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. We can rent some bikes and take a nice bike ride through the trees and along the bay of the Lake Erie shores, stopping on the beach when we get a little tired. We can stop at one of the many local restaurants to replenish all that energy we lost! On our way back, we can stop at the local farmers market and get some homemade baked sweets for dessert.
If you aren't ready to leave yet, I would take you to Put-in-Bay, and take the ferry to South Bass Island where we can rent golf carts and check out all the fun activities there. After staying the night on the island, we can hop on another ferry to go to Kelly's island and explore there. When we come back home I'd start a fire in the back yard, and we can roast some marshmallows to cap off your visit
.
After reading that, it sounds like more of a date than showing an out-of-town visitor around
.

I live in adelaide, so if you look at a map, you will see it is out in the middle of nowhere.
Day 1. I would take you down to the museum, art gallery, archaeological museum. Then a lunch time classical music concert at the conservatorium of music. Then we would eat a picnic lunch from local produce in the botanic gardens before heading down to the adelaide zoo. We would then catch the tram up to the central markets and pick out local products for the next day. Then i would take you down for a sunset cruise in port adelaide, to see the dolphins and a swim at the beach before going to bed.
Day 2. We would head out to Monarto zoo. It is an open plain zoo where Animals are out in the open. We would spend most of the day there and eat a picnic lunch watching over the lion paddock. On our way back to the city we would stop at Handorf and look at all the touristy stuff. Then we would head to Worawong wildlife sanctuary for a night time walk to see all the native australian wildlife in their natural habitat. (I am sure you want to pat kangaroo's).
Day 3. We would head up to the barossa valley and spend the day wine tasting and eating local cheeses and preserves.
Day 4. We would head down to victor harbour and go sand surfing, learn about the local aboriginal culture, swimming, ride the horse drawn tram out to gradite island and see the fairy penguins.
Day 5. We would have to fit in reef diving and ship wreck diving at Port Willunga before going to bed early.
Day 6. We would catch the Ghan out to Alice springs (a full day trip). You can't come all this way and not see Uluru.
Day 7. You would go home. ![]()

My SO's sister likes to come for food tours sometimes. We go to a bunch of ethnic restaurants, including Lebanese, Thai, Indian, Ethiopian, Polish, Hungarian, Vietnamese... The only rule is no Italian, because they're Italian and no one cooks like mom.
How about the Andy Warhol museum? We could visit his grave too. It's close to my house.

My town is veery small, so it wouldn't take too long to show you everything. I'd take you around my part of Suffolk.
For breakfast we could go to my local pub, The Crown Hotel, which is a 14th century coaching inn. Apparently they do very good scrambled egg and smoked salmon, or you could have a greasy full English breakfast if you'd prefer.
We could go for a walk around the castle and the mere.
Then go for a drive across Suffolk to the coast, and go to Aldeburgh, a seaside town. We could have fish n chips for lunch and have a walk on the beach. I'm afraid the North Sea isn't quite as dramatic as the Atlantic, but hopefully the sun will come out. Maybe we could borrow someone's labrador and throw sticks for it. We could pop over to Southwold, for an ice cream.
We could go to captain's wood, an ancient woodland, over 1000 years old, which has a carpet of bluebells at the moment, as well as fallow deer.
We could then toddle to snape maltings, which is on the edge of a bird reserve, and have afternoon tea. Scones, with strawberries and cream, and a nice cup of tea, followed by victoria sandwich cake. More strawberries and cream. We could have a mosey around the shops there, and look at the art galleries.
By then we'd both be knackered, and would be in need of a nice long nap. Following that, I could make you a nice roast dinner. Roast chicken and roast tatties with aspargus and purple sprouting brocolli. Or roast beef with yorkshire pudding. With local Aspall's Cyder or a good wine. And a nice rhubarb crumble and custard for pudding.
After all that food, you'd need to sleep for a week!.
That would be as exciting as it gets round here.
I've been to Orange County, when I visited my grandmother when I was 14. I went to Disneyland with my mum, and my grandmother went to Knott's Berry Farm with her husband. It was a bit overwhelming, but I enjoyed it.

I've been to the Andy Warhol museum. It had a room full of floating balloons that you could push around and jump through
Do you live in Pittsburgh? I wish I'd visited some of those restaurants when I was there.
If anybody visited me, I would take them up Snowdon. If they don't like walking up mountains, I would take them to a Castle. If they don't like castles either, then I would have to take them to a nature reserve. Apart from that, I could take them to the coast, or to look at some of the 11,000,000 sheep.
