Have you ever tried adding someone on Facebook and then they rejected your request. NOTE: Those who have Facebook should only answer this.

No, I only sent requests to a very small amount of people and they all accepted. However, I have not declined, but not accepted, over 60 friend requests. This probably sums up all of my social interaction, I just wait for people to come to me, except in a few circumstances. You don't feel hated if they are the ones that initiate.

They should only answer this? So they're not allowed to ever answer any other questions? :P

Probably. I mostly wait for people to add me though. I have had tons of people from my college delete me after it was apparent we weren't becoming real life friends any time soon.

Ironically, the only person that rejected my FB request was my dad! I normally get people's permission IRL before I add them on FB. Often the subject will pop up in Random Discussion i.e. "are you on FB?"

I don't know if people have refused my requests because I usually forget. But I do know people have unfriended or blocked me afterwards

Does it actually tell you if a person rejected your request?

I only ask cause the same person has been trying to add me at least a dozen times and i'm wondering if he's put 2+2 together yet

Then again, it does tell you if someone accepts, so if that doesn't happen you can probably assume you were rejected.

How would you know? A far easier question would be, "Have you ever rejected friendship requests?"

Sure. I don't send requests often, but I have been rejected once or twice. Generally, though, I let people request me as I don't initiate friendships or conversations very often unless I have something to say/know the person really well.

I meant only people who have Facebook should answer this.

I don't send very many friend requests but seem to always get accepted. The reason is that I only ask people that I know very well.

I rarely go on facebook because it shows just how shallow and self-centered the average person can be.
To me facebook is one big social competition.
The only reason I have one is to keep up with my favorite bands.

Generally I accept most friend requests. If it's someone I have never met in real life, I generally just dismiss it. If it's a complete stranger, I will decline it. In the six or so years of using Facebook, I've only had to unfriend one person, and that was after I discovered some nasty stuff going on behind my back.

When I first started using Facebook I sent out friend requests to a few people and some did not respond, even people I thought I knew. These days, I generally don't send out requests unless I have a good reason to do so.
