What are you?

I'm Scandinavian/Germanic-- Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish. I'm also Celtic-- Irish, Scottish, Welsh. I'm a bit Latin-- French. I'm mostly Scandinavian so that's what I voted.


I also have British, Jewish and Egyptian relatives, but I'm not related to the people who made them those things.


People have told me I look Spanish, British, American, German, Celtic, "Viking" (Scandinavian) and Russian.


So what are you, what other things are your relatives, and what have people thought you were?

No such thing as a 'British' race - and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are British, which you included under 'Celtic'. Perhaps you meant English?

British, taken as an example, is about as mongrel as you can get, unless an individual can track back one particular lineage.

Go back far enough , and the inhabitants were Britons of Celtic stock. Angles and Saxons, Germanic tribes, displaced them westwards and Northwards. Then the Romans came, and a good many of them weren't Italian. There were Norse settlements in the north, and the Normans were also of that line, (though by now largely French in culture). Add others to the mix in pre-modern times particularly the French: Huguenots and then refugees from "The Terror". Post WW2 it's got a lot more mixed!

Me, I'm Anglo-Saxon as far as I know, with a fair chance of some Celtic fringe blood through one grandfather, who had a long family history in the West Country.

Well, I've voted Celtic but I'm half English half Welsh so I wasn't quite sure which to vote for.
I live in Wales so that swung it really.

I am French, English, Danish, and German. I didn't really know what to put, so I just put that I'm Scandinavian. Funny thing is, everyone thinks I'm all English even though I have an extremely French last name.

It would really help if I knew what my mother mostly was. I think her name was Vanhorn.

I'm half Lithuanian!

Since I don't know about my mother's side of the family, I'll just vote Slavic.

I've voted Mostly British.

I'm danish.

My father was norwegian, my mother was half danish and half colombian.

Half Scandinavian, half Celtic.

I am descended from Jacobites,(Bonnie Prince Charlie, all that) If you look up folklore, you'll find that there were two brothers who hid with Bonnie Prince Charlie and helped him escape to France, Hugh and Roderick. I'm descended from the eldest, Hugh.

We don't know how true that is, but I like to think it is.

My great-grandfather is either Dutch or Irish, we don't know. He enlisted on the American side under a german name, was kicked out, and reenlisted under an Irish name. He has no birth certificate. He would disappear for years at a time, leaving my great-grandmother with 5 children, 2 with polio. Everyone thinks he was some sort of CIA agent. He was buried under two names.

I am belgian, slovic, ruthinian, a little irish and some other stuff I cant remeber.

I'm colombian, so I'm latin, from mostly spanish, and some german, chinese and native ascendance

British does no way fall into "latin". Latin people are people who come from the cultures that spoke latin language and romance languages such as spanish, portuguese, italian and french.
