2yrs and 20,000 more people on WP

i joined WP 2yrs ago and if i remember right there were 52,000 members and 2yrs later there are 70,000.
that means approximately 10,000 people join each year, way to keep the site going and running strong

Grats... but it seems less active than before. Maybe it's just me.

Breakdown analysis of the 20,000 new members:

10,000 Advertisers signing up just to have links to their website in their profile. Participation in the site: Nil.

5,000 PM Scammers - I read your profile and think you are wonderful, I would like to have a relationship with you and take all your money. Age, religion or colour is no barrier to our love. Please send an email to me at lovelybabe4you@yahoo.com

4,000 Lurkers who only signed up to get past that horrible login pop up window but have never posted.

500 Banned members sneaking back with new accounts.

400 Sock-puppet accounts of existing members so they can troll members they don't like.

50 Old members who forgot their account details and signed up again.

50 Real new members who actually post something.

Yes, less than 1/10 of that 70000 are active members.

Well, I love this place and I've learned a lot. I'm glad that I signed up.

I also enjoy being here.

I remember when it was only 35K, and thought that was alot.

So its doubled since ive been here.

A lot of those people are sock puppets and spam bots, though.

We're all proof that there are active members though :o

I hope none, TallyMan D: Else bots would have become way too smart o_o
