Yep, it's about something we can't live without, glasses.
----
I wear them, because it's a genetic thing within me: I can't see anything from too far away. But it makes me look wonderful, and it makes me who I am; in other words, if I ever got Lasik surgery in the future, part of me would die. As in the GOOD-LOOKIN' ME! :(

I'd lose some of my character if I didn't use glasses. Maybe because I don't have any character at all :P

I actually have a reason to wear nerd glasses. :nerdy:

(Yes, they're thick plastic black ones. With real lenses.)

I told some little white lies during an eye exam ten years ago, so I could show my intelligence by wearing horn-rimmed glasses. I was very disappointed when my immediate family kept treating me like the idiot that I wasn't. I should have been honest and saved the $400 dollars. I do admit that they looked pretty good on me, though. :)

My nose is flat, so my glasses keep slipping off. And I can't wear contact lenses for more than a few hours at a time because they start to dry up and irritate my eyes. :x

I have worn glasses as far back as I can remember. In my teens I once managed to fall flat on my face onto a concrete driveway. The frame of my glasses customized my face. The good news is since then I have a little ledge at just the right location on my nose for all the bridges of subsequent glasses to ride upon.

I wear glasses all the time. I'm practically blind without them. I wouldn't do well with contacts.

I wear a pair of glasses. Only real problem is that my face is... well, it's too wide. And they loosen up real fast. I have to basically glue them to my face because they slip off my ears all the time. It suuucks.

I also get a free second pair of glasses from the lens shop I go to, and they... how do I put this... I have lost the second pair in the apocalyptic wasteland that is my bedroom floor and I do believe they have been crushed into a fine powder beneath the incessant trash and clothes and shoes and books and other such gunk. So that's nice. Somewhere under the ungodly mess there is a trashed-up pair of what were once glasses.

I have a ledge like that too. Not big enough that the bridge can rest on, but big enough to be noticeable when I take my glasses off. Which is rare. I found out the hard way why Drs make u wait 20 min after getting an injection before u can leave. My 20 min were almost up when I fainted and fell out of my chair.

My eyesight is bad, I have worn glasses since I was six. I used to think they made me look hideous, I tried contacts at 16, but my eyes kept getting dry and irritated. When I got the glasses I have now, I hoped the odd shape would balance my face shape. They must, cuz I get a lot more attention from guys now.

Now that ya mention contacts, I cannot wear them because of my 'dry eye syndrome'; it'd cause a nasty effect on my eyes. Very unpleasant.

I got extensive eyetests last week on Thursday :o It was really tiring and they said i need to try prism glasses, because there's something wrong with my eyes besides the fact that i can't see much xD I hope they get them done soon, i really want to see good again! And i'm not getting contacts, they scare me, and a dry eye syndrome sounds unpleasant, oh by the way i'm getting a black frame and they're sort of square, i tried all kinds of glasses there, and they were very friendly, but round glasses is apparently not my thing due to the shape of my face :o

Anyway sorry i rambled, would it be alright if i posted here again once i get my glasses?

I just got glasses today, well technically yesterday now.
I wish my insurance would have payed for transition lenses, but I sure don't have the spare $100.
Apparently my vision wasn't that good even though I thought it was fine.
I put them on and was like 8O

Its going to take some getting used to though, damn things are giving me a headache and making me nauseous when I turn too fast.
If I cock my head left and right a few times I damn nearly fall over dizzy.

Also the pressure on my nose is bugging me, I'm afraid I'm going to smack them into things.

Also I can't quite figure out where my limbs are, especially my feet because when I look down my eyes leave the lenses and I'm seeing half normal vision half lenses vision.
Which is part of the headache problem because I'm used to my eyes looking down so I keep getting half and half vision.
I'll have to start looking strait or up...or get a bigger pair of glasses.

Yah...I'm not so sure I like this.

Yep, multifocals for me. One pair for day to day and a safety pair for work. Another pair that are reserved for fishing only.
Distance only contacts for riding my m/cycle.
Funny I never thought I could stand having something in/on my eye. A tiny speck of dirt and I'm clawing at the offending particle trying to dislodge it like a crazy man

If just the thought of having something your eye starts them watering, doesn't mean you can't wear contacts.
My optom fitted me up with a trial pair at no charge and they're great :D

I think fems with glasses look 'rather sophicated' (you heard that in a terribly British voice right?), just look at Metaldanielle and Hyperlexicon.
Does saying that make me sound like some old perv :?: Oh well
