You could be anywhere and in any time period in history....where would you be, when would you be and why?

Hmm....I'd like to be when and where Jesus was. To see what he was all about. Just kidding.

I'd like to be in Italy during the Renaissance period.

Right where I am, but circa 1930; with a Browning Automatic Rifle to call my own.

Why?

Why not?

My facination in y7 was Ancient Egypt. I'm still interested in it though not madly. It'd be good to see what it was like.

I’d like to be in France around 600 years ago or so. That’s when my ancestors ruled it!

They were royalty. Has anyone ever heard of the Plantagenets? They’re my ancestors!

So basically they bossed the Burgundians, who in turn bossed the rest of France.

Even better!

If it were just a visit, ancient Greece, during Socrates time.
There is no period in history I would rather live in, unless I could choose my status!

Yeah, pretty much. I do know they got overthrown around 500 years ago. If they were still royalty, I might be a princess!

I've heard of Dick Plantagenet (the lionheart). I think his direct descendant is living in Australia and some believe he is the rightful heir to the English Throne (if I have the correct family)

So many choices. I think I'd go for one of the feudal societies though - one knew ones place, and what they owed and were owed. Of course, it's good to be king and all (ah to be a Merovignian, to reign but not rule!), but even the serfs had this advantage. And in the early days, much of feudalism was more fluid (socially) so knowing your place didn't preclude a rise in position. Plus, the lice were better tasting then.

Iffley Road, England, on May 6, 1954 to watch Roger Bannister break the four-minute mile and do what was once considered impossible.
