if you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

I'd open an animal shelter, never work again, give some money to my siblings and parents, and move to a home in the country with a huge fenced-in yard in which many feral cats would roam both in and out of the house.

I want to do something very similar! My dream is to open a rescue and rehab facility and sanctuary for waterfowl. If I won the lottery or otherwise came into independent wealth, I'd give up work and devote my life to that; they are my passion. I would also buy/build a home where I had enough land to have my own animals and give a home to some rescue birds.

I'd build shelters for the homeless and the poor.

I'd build animal hospitals where people can bring in animals for free cure.

Since I'm a Jain I'd open free vegetarian/vegan restaurants.

I'd offer free drug and alcohol treatment and rehab for those who want it.

I'd offer free advanced education for those who want it.

i'd pay off my nieces' and nephews' student loans and put the rest in an annuity to live off in my old age.

I'd give some of it to my friends and family.

Pay off my bills

Buy my own place...at last

Finish my degree(s). I may go for a Master's later on.

Use some to help victims of domestic violence, bullying and poverty.

Help people in natural disasters

Help get better schools and education for our kids.

buy house for me & my girlfriend & we could get married instead of worrying about her Section 8, SSI & food-stamps.

If I had a million... this is what I would do.

0. move out of my parents' house for f-ck's sake
1. stop living my life on the internet, in front of the computer
2. find other things that I like doing, and do them
3. I seriously have no idea?? this life is the only life that I know..

Buy a new home for me and my husband.

Pay off bills and mortgage for said house.

Use some to donate to animal shelters.

i would buy 200,000 $5 scratchy tickets.

Build a gigantic statue on a deserted island and burry myself alive under it.

Invest it in assets to provide me with a passive (non-work) income.

1st? Keep it a secret forever. Never let anyone know it. If my cover is blown, I'll donate all it's remains to the poor under an anonymous name. (Meaning, if the public quickly knows, I'll donate it secretly, and immediately. And deny the claims of it.)

2nd thing I would ever do with it is hunt someone down and drag him home half across the globe. Even if I have to do that literally...

3rd? Study more, find something worth selling or changing. (If that doesn't happen, I won't spend anymore than half of the million.) If it booms, I won't worry much anymore. xD Because I just so happened to know a very few businessmen and accountants who are willing to be hired by me. (I'm not joking.)

4th? If 3rd is successful, retire early. Pretend to be some slacker or a freeloader; as a cover up at 1st thing I would do.

in today's dollars, a million of 'em won't stretch too far, no matter how imaginatively one parses them. that said, I'd first pay off my debts and fix my tin can to where it will last me until I kick the bucket, then I'd go to my ed jones lady and have her tell me how to set up a non-profit charity that would give working class people health care who presently fall through the cracks of PPACA. oh, and with a little left over I might get me a karmann ghia convertible, a pink one
