why does rap music have so much bad grammar and cussing?

It's a stylistic choice, really.

Using African-American vernacular (which has nonstandard grammar and word choice) identifies it with that subculture. The swear words? Well, a lot of rap songs are pretty emotionally-driven and cursing has a great deal of emotional impact. But yeah, a lot of it is just because that's how the genre is.

they have to shoe horn words into the rhythm they banally think of.

actually there is only one rap song i like and i really do like it, but everything else is just rehashed s**t.

this was the first rap song ever, and it is called "rappers delight" and it is very very good.

It's called creativity. Also swearing might be their culture, or if they didn't they might be seen as not having the guts for it (wimpy).

Many pop/rock songs also have grammar mistakes and garbled words, for the sake of making a rhyme.

I actually don't like rap music. Then again many of the songs are often unnecessarily sexual and that is annoying.

One thing you will notice with opera singers is how they forgo correct pronunciation in order to maintain the correct note.

This applies to all forms of singing.

I personally do not like "urban" music of any kind, but give credit to their ability to join words with fluidity in rhythm.

As for cussing, well as we all know, cussing is used to stress an emotive point in speech. In the music industry, this would be a precarious balance of what the record company desires so it can sell albums, and what the artist/musician wants to personally accomplish.

It's the language of the streets.

Maybe not true for rap or hip hop artists in other countries. From what I've heard, they don't. Maybe in America there's socioeconomic hardships black people experience that is expressed in their music, there's also conflicts with law enforcement and between groups if people that are commonly talked/sung(?) about in hip hop.
In short, maybe they are venting.

They probably have somewhere between very little and no respect for those who speak otherwise.

Because they think it makes them sound all hard-core and edgy. But I just think it sounds like a bunch of angry black guys swearing.

And rock and heavy metal doesn't have bad grammar and cussing?
