This pisses me off. I was in Charlotte, North Carolina. I've been racing cars forever, I currently race a Thunder Roadster, and they needed some Thunder Roadster owners to come down, let them paint our cars up Nextel Cup Cars, and then have the Crew Chief for that car race it as one of the events before the All-star race. ANYWAYS! While there, I'm stuck standing in the sun ALL FREAKING DAY LONG and develop 2nd degree burns all over my face and arms. In addition, I have minor 3rd degree burns on the back of my neck and a nice big case of sun poisening. On top of hurting like hell, the Doctor tells me it will take a few years to fully heal. OTHX

Ouch. Sorry to hear that - hope it gets better soon.

This is why I tend to stay away from sunlight if I can. Doing that also prevents me from turning to dust without my coffin to protect me...

I hate sunlight, but I don't get burns like that. It just hurts my eyes and gives me headache etc.

Ouch, not good, I burn easily myself when in the sun so know what it must be like

I went to Ibiza and fell asleep sunbathing, it was painful.
Don't know about a few years to heal; i never seen sunburn that bad.
But you have learnt a lesson. Sun lotion will prevent this.

I was in the infield. More precisely, in the pit area.. working on the Thunder Roadster and such to prepare it for the event. There was no shade.. anywhere.
