Although some can look impressive , I think it's cruel because they are usually trophies , a beloved pet on the other hand not so cruel but a bit creepy , I once kept my dead pet in the freezer for 5 years because I was planning on putting him in resin. I came to my senses and eventually gave him a funeral.

I just had a thought that you might be talking about plush toys rather than taxidermy , if that is the case , I don't do teddies any more , it was a child thing for me that I either grew out of or shied away from them as it wasn't socially acceptable to have teddies as a male.

I think the OP meant plush toys and not taxidermy.

And of course, plushies are the best! Their softness and their cute, non-threatening appearance makes them very comforting.

The OP did mean teddies.
I love teddy bears. They are a good comforting item to keep on your bed. My teddy bear looks after me, I know he does.

And you're never too old to love your teddy.

Never really been into them.

I used to have a bald teddy bear. When I was really little I'd pluck out the fur a little bit at a time and rub it between my fingers. Good thing they didn't get me a pet cat lol.

I loved stuff animals as a kid! I had a collection of them. Sadly we forgot them when my family moved... Now I have some pokemon plusies!

There was one I had that was a dog. My mother loved that dog and so did I. I named it Rattata after the pokemon(I don't know why.), it was a pretty stuffed animal.

Each time I visit a place (like on a vacation) I buy a little teddy as a souvenir. But sadly I'm running out of space for all my teddies. :(

My girlfriend has more than a few but some were given to her & she has more than she has room for. I had one when I was little but don't remember it & I haven't been into em since.

I have a collection that I keep on my couch and on my bed. Some of them were made for me, so I couldn't just get rid of them! It's nice to just cuddle up with them when I get anxious.

I love stuffed animals! Especially the more realistic ones. And teddy bears of course. I become a kid again whenever I enter a toystore!

Plushies were one of my favorite toys as a kid, then I outgrew them and put them away.
Some years later some of the cutest ones came back, and some new ones have been added  I am particular but they're here to stay (some have affectionate value, others are new and cute; the latter are all turtles).

edit: I want to clarify that after the point when plushies reentered my life, I have only collected them. Only 2 plushies get hugged occasionally (an old seal I've had since I was 6 and a turtle that reminds me of my late Nemo), and only in private in my room.
They never accompany me outdoors, nor have I played with any since I was a kid.

Me too. I bought myself a teddy bear a few years ago. At first I felt embarrassed because I am “too old,” but I think children are very wise to self-soothe with plushies. I’m comfortable with the teddy bear now. I mean, I don’t carry it around in public...yet. But I do use it to self-soothe in my safe place. It is a helpful tool for emotional self care.

Me and my big Bedtime Bear teddy. This pic is a few years old, but I still have him here with me.
