Did you get your name from a family member or a celebrity?

Neither.

My mother was named after Myrna Loy.

My real name was chosen from a character in a film
My WP name is chosen from a character in a novel

Somewhere in between the two, I chose my own name.

I was named after my real father. The same father who left shortly after I was born and was never a part of my life growing up and he was never there for me all those times when I could have really used a daddy.

Ironic isn't it? Especially since I made the decision that I would never have kids because I have Bipolar Disorder. I never want to repeat the curse of being a bad father all over again.

I think I was named after an obscure shoe brand.

My parents just whittled down names until they got down to the ones they liked the most.

My mom actually has an interesting story about my name. When she was about 5 or so she insisted on being called James for a while and she named me after that. As for my WP name, when I was like 10, I made my email address(which I still use), but I made a typo so it was jamthis12 instead of jamathis12 and I just used jamthis12 or jamthis from there on out.
Oh and if I was born a girl, I would've been named Stormy, which now that I think of it is actually a pretty good name for a female version of me.

If you had to name a baby boy / girl right now, what would you choose?

I think for a boy I'd name him Anthony, just because I had a grandpa who had that name and he was a great person. For a girl I think I'd name her Jessica because I think I think it sounds nice.

My RL name was pulled from a Bible verse, the online handle from a book.

My WP name was chosen at a time when I felt I had to wear my family name.
If I were to join WP today, my username would be something I'd never outgrow such as 'KinksFan'

It was assumed I would be a girl, so I was going to be called Caroline. I confused everyone by being born a boy, so Steven was conjured up very quickly. I'm just glad it's spelt with a v not a ph... dunno why.
My childhood nickname was fatty or fatso... until I was anorexic in my teens.
My forum name is from another forum... I wish I'd chosen Viatus in honour of my mega obsession, Sir Thomas Wyatt.

My real name comes from a famous political activist who was hanged. But it also means sea in my native language.
