We must live in a pretty uninteresting time.

No time travelers from the future want to visit us.

Or maybe they are entering a parallel universe.

We get the same number of time travelers from the future as does every other era in history for the last five thousand years. So we prolly don't stand out one way or the other in interestingness.

I think the times we live in are *too* interesting, if you know what I mean. And maybe that's why time travelers from the future have never visited us. Because there is no future. :(

Yes. It was.

The OP is rather silly because it implies that other eras of history DO (or did) get flocks of tourists from the future.

Most likely every era gets/got the same number as we get, which is zero. Or if other eras DID get visitors in time machines then those visitors were good at concealing themselves, and they are just as good at concealing themselves in this era as well.

But the most likely number of visitors from the future to any era (past or present) is zero. Most likely because reverse time travel will never be possible because it violates Einstein, and so forth. But yes, there is that possibility that given time and technology humans could break the barrier and achieve backward time travel, but we all get snuffed out before we achieve that. Only time will tell.

Quote:
The absence of time travelers from the future is a variation of the Fermi paradox. As the absence of extraterrestrial visitors does not prove they do not exist, so the absence of time travelers fails to prove time travel is physically impossible; it might be that time travel is physically possible but is never developed or is cautiously used. Carl Sagan once suggested the possibility that time travelers could be here but are disguising their existence or are not recognized as time travelers.[26] Some versions of general relativity suggest that time travel might only be possible in a region of spacetime that is warped a certain way, and hence time travelers would not be able to travel back to earlier regions in spacetime, before this region existed. Stephen Hawking stated that this would explain why the world has not already been overrun by "tourists from the future."[47]
Several experiments have been carried out to try to entice future humans, who might invent time travel technology, to come back and demonstrate it to people of the present time. Events such as Perth's Destination Day or MIT's Time Traveler Convention heavily publicized permanent "advertisements" of a meeting time and place for future time travelers to meet.[52] In 1982, a group in Baltimore, Maryland, identifying itself as the Krononauts, hosted an event of this type welcoming visitors from the future.[53][54] These experiments only stood the possibility of generating a positive result demonstrating the existence of time travel, but have failed so far—no time travelers are known to have attended either event. Some versions of the many-worlds interpretation can be used to suggest that future humans have traveled back in time, but have traveled back to the meeting time and place in a parallel universe.[55]

Of course there have been people who have claimed to be time traveling visitors from the future or even from the past.

I don't believe in time travelling.

There is a whole industry devoted to U Tube videos, either supporting, or refuting, the claims of John Titor ( a guy who claimed to be a time traveler from the future (like from the year 2045, or some not far off date like that). And there are tons of other U Tube alledged time traveler vids.

I time travel from 2019 to the 40s, the 60s and back again all in the same day - every day.

I suspect Jesus was a time traveler. He used his technology from the future to perform all his so-called "miracles"

There is actually something to time travel if one understands that subjectivity is itself, timeless.

To clarify, we all experience every time simultaneously, because now is all we can experience.

I read years ago that there's supposed to be a Chinese curse that translates to "may you live in interesting times", which sounds more like a blessing unless you think of what they mean by "interesting", like war, chaos, political unrest and such. But last light I read that the curse is more of an urban legend and there's little proof that they actually have such a saying in China.

A good curse wd be ‘may you have ASD in a world which doesnt value aSD’

A good prayer wd be
May the people who are ignorant or snobby towards ‘weird’ people come to see the value in authentic genuine sincere autistic ppl of every level and intellectual ability/disability and support n integrate them into society in meaningful productive ways
ASD ppl are a treasure trove and the world doesn’t understand how to teach them n does not value their gifts and potential n good points n dismisses them because of superficial n inconsequential reasons
ThennASD PPL are often shoved to the side n deprived n impoverished and n mistreated n may develop debilitating mental illnesses as a result

that is a huge loss fr civilization
