I got banned from autism forums for not agreeing to go along with their censorship. Because I don't agree that it's okayt to delete a post because one person MIGHT find it offensive. This is Ridiculous. They funny part? People complain about WPs moderation when they moderation is so totally wacked that posting something that no one on the forum finds offensive is bannable. Anyone else have similiar experiences? I literally got banned for posting a SATIRICAL WEBSITE that says it's satirical on teh website and NO one was offended by. Because the IDIOTIC mods thought someone who isn't on the forum might find it offensive.

One of my threads was banned on r/aspergers because they thought it was off topic and something trolls would write even though I had posted many times in their sub before. I felt invalidated like my problem wasn't real. My rant was about NTs thinking we are stupid for taking them literal because they don't want to say some extra words so we understand them. But I guess my issue doesn't exist so this is why I think I have a undiagnosed condition that has not been discovered yet.

they err on the side of caution. also there is a much more genteel bunch of posters there, i posted something mildly risque and got complaints, was told by AF that "THIS SITE IS G-RATED!! !" moral of the story is that if you want disney, go there- and if you want something more, come here.

I got banned from r/pokemon for my theory of shiny pokemon being autistic. I was to naive at the time to realize that it could be interpreted to be the slang word instead of literally. The other problem Is i just can't follow rules I don't agree with. I just get super argumentative and get all caught up in how stupid the rule is I usually end up making the mods want to ban me

I've noticed the opposite problem, meaning people don't get punished for things that they really should. In WP for examble, misogyny is an undying problem that the mods don't really do much about. Sometimes some people get banned for a little while, but that's it.

That one's on you, then. If you join a website, you need to follow the rules. If you don't like the rules, you can try to negotiate with the people who make them so that they could change them, but if that doesn't work, either follow the rules or leave. Their site, their rules.

Not sure how this rule is interpreted by the mods here, but just in case you hadn't seen it Pieplup

What was the website you even posted? It's stupid that you got banned over that.

They can ban you for almost any reason they like and they can censor as much as they like because it is their site, they are the ones who put the time and effort creating the site not you. Whether they SHOULD censor us another issue.

Here on WP we are allowed to criticize the founder of the site and the moderators. That is not a right, it is a priviledge granted by Alex the founder and owner.

Before you got banned, did a mod talk to you first?

lol, I know some places where you could actually get banned for whining about mods and their decisions. I once got warned on a website for it.

Here you used to get banned if you ranted about mods from here on another website. It happened to me. They tried to deny it but I said I got banned after I posted about a nasty PM I got from a mod and I hadn't even made a post here since before I made that post so what rule did I break after I hadn't been posting here? Was it just a coincidence I got banned right after I made that post on another website I sarcastically asked.

On Reddit, it's common to just get banned without any warning or message from a mod. Your thread can also get removed too without any warning and you won't even know it's been deleted until you go back to your thread. It will still appear on your profile but it won't show up on the front page in that sub.

Honesty I couldn't careless if someone reports a thread. The mods will decide if it is breaking a rule or not. It's not like the member will be kicked from the forum unless they were repeated trouble makers. I don't see the OP as that way.

There's a thread on AF about WP, where someone says,

"they run that place like a bunch of commies".

:P

Two very different sites for sure, AF is pretty vanilla by comparison.
