I just came back from Blockbuster Video and as I pulled into the driveway, I saw two deer by the side of the house grazing. I got a flash light and quietly went around the back and turned on the light towards the backyard. There must have been almost 10 pairs of eyes reflecting in the light beam. 8O

My parents have a big yard and all but never have I seen a herd of ten deer. Poor things must be hungry. And I just have a gut feeling that Rhode Island is in for a hard winter unlike last year.

HAHA, thats real cool. I love going thru the woods and seeing a deer or even multyple deer grazing and then when they see me sometimes tho they are cautious they remain in place unless I continue to advance. I have gotton pretty close to deer in the past, real close, I feel they dont feel to threatened by my presence. I have only killed 1 deer in my life as im not a hunter but an automobile oporator, hehe. In the past, I liked to stroll thru these woods I have permission to be on, years of hunting had taken its toll, i used to see many, then I saw few. Now the landowner seems more vigulant to keep hunters off of his proporty and im happy abou that cause now in recent years the population has increased, sure that means more dmanaged cars quite possibly, but I think deer are cool creatures and like to see more of them in the woods, just not on the roads, unfortunatly the reality is that deer have had their habitat partishioned by raods and development, so its inevitable I suppose. I could go on and on and on about habitat fragmentation, and buffer zones, and all that but I wont, heh.

Deer are cool!

That's so wicked man. I've never seen a deer in real life before.

I have a friend who sometimes gets large numbers of deer in his backyard (which is rather spacious.) It's pretty cool to see when it happens.

don't feed them or they will come back, and if you live near roads and stuff that could be bad.

I live in a VERY rural area (you have to drive down a dirt road to get here) and there's deer outside every day. This morning I asked my mother why the deer are chasing eachother. Duh I'm oblivious...

There's also tons, TONS of turkeys. Those things are noisy. There's this one turkey though that never hangs out with the group; he's always by himself. He's my Aspie turkey! :D
