The bad economy.
All that election stuff last year.
Those octuplets' mom stories.
About Chris Brown punching Rihanna.
Reality TV Shows (especially "American Idol").
Anything related to politics.
Hannah Montana
High School Musical
The Jonas Brothers
All those government bailouts.

I'm sick of hearing Americans talk about their states like they're individual countries. You don't come from OR or PA. You come from USA and that's all. That you have a convoluted legal system is no excuse for having raised self-importance.

Well, we Americans tend to take pride in the states we come from. We don't feel that way because of our legal system; we feel that way because each state is sort of its own subculture, such as different forms of recreation, different fashion senses and different accents (Southern, New York, New England, Wisconsin etc.) Not to mention that tastes in art and music tend to differ across the states.

sport star news (i don't want to know about every aspect of their personal life I DON"T CARE)
political infighting (in australia the politicians tend to spend a lot of time insulting each other or fighting within their own parties) (hey guys, you are supposed to serve your country, not fight amongst yourselves)

Perhaps High School Musical, as it's everywhere these days.

agh, that IS irritating, one of my exes likes that (first girlfriend in case anyone is wondering), kind of glad she's an ex, athough high school musical didn't exist in 2000
