As soon as my friend gets off work, we're going on the the first camping trip of the season! (Where's the extra-excited emote?;;; )
So, do you guys like camping? Has anyone gone yet this year? Any winter camping? XD (None for me thanks, it just gets nasty and soggy up here in winter.)

I'm packing right now and I never realized how much stuff we always take.;;; It's like filling up the hallway. XD XD But at least I convinced my friend that she does not need to bring her fold-out camping kitchen. (It seriously looks like one of those entire toy mini-kitchens kids play house with.)

I like camping apart from the bugs that no matter how hard you try to keep them out, seem to work their way into your tent. The last time I went camping was when I was 10 but I would probably still like it. I like to be able to get away from the suburb I live in.

I love camping. But I can say it is the fascination with the tent and camper that got me into camping. As a child I used to collect tents and line them up in the yard. I probably have a dozen or so tents in my parents' basement. I was also fascinated with fold-out (pop-up) campers as a child. Today, my wife, sons, and I have a fold-out camper that we camp in several times during the summer at the local state parks. I am also fascinated by vintage Airstream campers---so I have a 1961 Airstream (26 foot) in my backyard under a carport. I am wanting to use it as my own special quiet place to work on my writing.

I understand "camping" is looked down on in most video game deathmatches...

I love to camping. I wish I could go this year but I won't be able to. Last year I had a blast though. A friend and I are already looking to next summer and planning something. Have fun :)

I've gone camping five times in my life - twice with my father, once with my school class, once with a friend and once in the military. The one time I went with a friend was nice in an awkward sort of way (you don't mind small inconveniences when you're eighteen), but I hated the other times, and would certainly never do it again.

I'm back, heh. We had to come back a day early because we totally forgot to bring a tarp, and it suddenly started to MONSOON and flood the underside of the tent, which meant there was only a thin layer of not-exactly-waterproof-fabric between us and the lake. And none of us were hardcore enough to want to sleep in a puddle. XD Guess we all need to watch a little more Bear Grylls.
But it was great anyway! There was a trail by a river and we watched people go over the rapids in weird little kayaks, and we teased the birds and ate a ton of meat-related camping dishes. P:

Camping is great!!

I am going camping in a few weeks, and also doing some sailing. That means getting burned again (my skin is really sensitive to the sun), but that is worth it.

I went to the Arbuckle Mountains (they're just rolling hills), in Oklahoma. They're about halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma City.

The views are beautiful--considering that when most people think of Oklahoma, they envision a flat, boring, tornado-infested wasteland. Not true.

I was with my geology classmates about a year and a half ago. It was also notable because I had my first (and last) beer, and I learned that Chuck Norris *can* divide by zero.
