OOOOOOOH! Can you do a model of caspase 3?

One order of caspase-3 coming along.

Resolution? Details? Quirks? Ribbon thickness?

Um, I really have no idea... Just pick what you prefer, I guess.

Initial rendering of monomeric caspase-3, dimer to be rendered in next revision.

That is only the beginning! Here, the dimer is rendered with surfaces, except one is a mesh for some level of clarity in the view:

You would be REALLY good at the Protein Modeling event. Seriously. Mind-blowingly amazing.

Thanks. :D Do you have anything in mind for the next revision?

[What is the Protein Modeling event? Is it computational or paper-and-pencil?]

Note to self: send email to director

Hmm, not really. That looks pretty good. :D
There are three parts to the Protein Modeling event. First, the event handbook gives us a specific protein to model using a material called Mini-Toober (in this case, it's caspase-3). We build a model with Mini-Toober beforehand and turn it in at the beginning of the competition. At the actual competition, we are given some more MIni-Toober (or pipe cleaner) and we are given another protein to model during that hour. Also, during that hour, we have to complete a written test composed of multiple-choice and free-response questions about the pre-built protein and protein structure in general.

That is exactly what I want! Of course, it means I should stop studying phi and psi because that will cause a compulsion to measure everything. But $32 seems a lot compared to cheaper media like paper attached to foil or wire in clay....
