Today I was playing the game Fractured Space and I unlocked a new crew member. I am mentioning this because, well, look:



According to his bio he's on the autism spectrum and his special interest is starship navigation.

I have replaced by navigation bot IX-209 with him in my utility ship crew. I am keeping that bot in my launch bay crew though because I am one crew member away from making that an all robot crew.

I feel a little foolish for taking this long to understand that people don't necessarily intend for their thread's title to reflect the content, nor even the content that they provide. Sometimes people have an ax to grind, and create a thread with some tenuous relationship to a current event in order to grind on that ax.

Then, the question becomes to what extent they have capacity and awareness of doing it. In other words, are they doing it deliberately? I get the feeling that at this point people will start to read criticism into my comments. Meh. Like any rhetorical tactic, it has uses and misuses for whatever argument one uses it to advance.

I can't give such a generous interpretation to people who imitate DJT's glib style of lying and total disregard for facts and integrity. That stinks, but if people didn't have agendas, they probably wouldn't make any threads at all.
