The funny thing is that Pratchett clearly loved humankind - on micro and macro scale. His books are gifts to the human spirit - and in some cases, paeans.

He just had this thing about seeing what's really there, as well as what easily could be. Which made him the closest thing to an honorary Aspie, than which there is no higher praise.

One of my cats can be very sulky, but if one just lets him into the bathroom, he'll immediately sit in the tub and purr manically and become really affectionate. I wish humans were as simple, and that sitting in a ceramic basin was all one needed to cure the blues for a time.
