Bummer-Rafa lost in Madrid. I hope this is just a minor bump in the road, and he wins his 11th French Open. I'd rather see him capture that title.

Good news: Denis Shapovalov, the Canadian teenager, is in the semis. He's good, if a little erratic and immature at times. If he controls his temper, he will be a very good player.

i remember the cats in the yard

the way their catnip lay on the ground bathed by sun

almost arrogant

i remember the towels on the bathroom wall

movies stacked on the floor by your bed carelessly

as was all else; thrown around

books and drawings tucked every which way

little windows into your deepest thoughts unknowable

and i am missing from that place.
