I live in an apartment complex that's home to many refugee families. I've had neighbors from Bosnia, Kosovo, Bhutan,Somalia,Iraq, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cuba, Albania etc. On a warm day everyone sits outside and watches the kids play.

I'm more of a recluse now than I ever was before. Not counting doctor/dentist visits, the only time I leave my house is to go running every morning at 7:30, and I won't even do that once the cold weather sets in. I've also pretty much cut off all contact with everyone except my parents and brother. I just haven't felt very social lately.

i have only one child because i miscarried the 4 that came after her. i like to say "she broke the mould". i am grateful to have her.
