I can be that way at times, you see. But I don't actually mean it. It's more like a stray thought here and there.

Ah well I think everyone has positive and negative personality traits. I vaguely remember some quote about nobody being all good or all evil, can't remember who said it though...

Ooh it's getting a bit serious in here!

Dear Albirea,That bird is definitely one of your best! It absolutely does look like the birds in traditional Chinese art.

Ok so I have a lot of obscure interests that are shared with SOME people, but not many. For instance, there is the band Carbon Leaf. They are an 'alternative' rock band but they have elements of celtic rock and country in them resulting in a unique sound. They had a song on the radio, life less ordinary, many years back but that was their weakest song off of that album which I think was a very good one, Indian Summer. They also did a cover of They Might Be Giant's Istanbul-Constantinople. Other good bands I know of that the majority of people don't know are: Dengue Fever(Yes, it's a ridiculous name. Dengue Fever is of course referring to the nasty relative of malaria), Girl In A Coma, The Dead Milkmen, Shonen Knife, Tamikrest, and many others. They are all drastically different, having nothing in common with each other. These bands are all on Youtube so there must be some connection to the public but since most people are so focused on pop culture, they aren't 'mainstream' yet. I don't read very much fiction these days. I don't have the mental energy for it somehow. But there are some good writers in sf and f that will never make it big because they can't appeal to fandom. They're just too good. Among these is Robin Hobb. Her books have charm, depth, highly developed characters and there are no derivatives. No elves, dwarves, high kings, evil lords, etc. There are dragons in some of her books. But they are different from say, Smaug, or some epic beast like that. I really like her Soldier Son trilogy because that has to do with biculturalism, and societies ways of accepting differences. That's all I've got for this post, because I'm rambling :(

Dear AngryDesiDoughboy, Have you ever heard of Ebola, Hantavirus, or Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease?
Now, THERE'S a nasty one! LymeDisease is finally becoming well-known enough that people are going in for diagnosis/treatment before it causes irreparable damage.
What is your personal opinion of the anti-vaccine groups? Especially those who feel that Autism and Asperger's can be caused by vaccines?

Would it be too late to add that dengue fever (of viral origin) is very different from malaria (of eukaryotic origin)?

Oh, I forgot to ask AngryDesiDoughboy (and everyone else) for an opinion on the groups who do not believe that HIV leads to AIDS!

LOL, I should know this! Thanks for reminding me to study for Microbe Mission!

...Actually, I knew that malaria is an eukaryotic parasite. I wasn't sure about dengue fever, though.

It was actually a response to another user assuming that the two were related in cause as opposed to effect, but I suppose that can also work as a reminder.

8O Unless, of course, you did a double account.

I know! It was simply a reminder when I saw your post.

...Me? Have a DOUBLE ACCOUNT? How dare you even think of such things?
(But seriously. I don't have one.)
