Hey everyone! I'm back from target practice. Gotta keep those rocket skills sharp... I've never played Portal... but it has been recommended to me numerous times.

Don't worry, I haven't played it either! Refer to my post here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4445848 ... t=#4445848
There's also a Personality Construct called a Rocket Sentry, which zaps bullets in a systematic way along a laser!

I'm posting too much, aren't I.

Perhaps they can be my most dreaded minions. :D And nah, you aren't posting too much. I probably would have been on here a good portion of the day if I wasn't out fishing.

Well, I think the whole vaccine thing is utter BS. I mean, autism is a neurological disorder. How in the world are vaccines going to engender it? From the studies that have been done and the data that has been collected, aspergers and autism is influenced by diet,(Gluten in some cases engenders negative effects of autism) environment, and genetics. I guess I don't really understand the vaccine argument too much, except that a lot of people are uptight about it. Vaccines are crucial in first world countries because they give us artificial immunity to diseases that can cripple a whole nation, including nasty ones such as dengue fever and malaria, but also things like polio, flu, etc. At least that's my understanding of it. So by not taking vaccines, you are hindering the physical health of people.

Why is autism viewed so negatively by many NTs? I can understand that from a mothers these last thing anybody wants is their child to not be able to participate in the world the way they were expected to. And from a mothers perspective..it's a lot of work to give a child the environment, tools etc. to succeed as an average joe, i.e blend in, and to deal with everything they put at you. But still...I think people need to be more accepting.

I would guess autism is viewed so negatively because people don't know much about it (and in some cases, don't care to know about it)?

Dear Ten, As usual, you do manage to say it all with insight; I'm sensing that you are implying a bit of fear is behind the 'not wanting to know'

Dear Angry DesiDoughboy, I had not been aware that environment was proven to have an affect on childhood Autism. To be honest, it is difficult to find information that is not too scholarly or theoretic for me to grasp, or so over-emotional and fringey that I just can't take it seriously. Could you give me a little general outline of how this environment-affected Autism works? In addition, I hope you are liking WrongPlanet; I think there are some fun people here!

Hello everyone!
I'm not sure why it's sometimes viewed negatively. I suppose with anything that's different some people will see as being a bad thing unfortunately.

Careful! Remember, it's the clean chatroom!

I agree, though. Logically, vaccines should not have anything to do with a neurological condition. The purpose of vaccines is to act as harmless antigens and work on the immune system, not the nervous system.
