i always get the heebie-jeebies from looking at another forum that is definitely not made up of mainly of autistic people . gosh NTs can be so nasty and their world is so scary/confusing/antagonizing for the likes of me.

It's not scary like a horror movie.


Just stuff like how they react to each other..
discuss life events people and their priorities are different ...the way they relate to each other too.


Here ppl share bits of their worlds (ideas.. Things they are interested in) and the way ppl relate to each other is about those things...

Not because we value people as less but Because we have no need to try n filter n categorize each other all the time trying to prove we belong or fearing backlash.


Because in my opinion we already accept each other as a given..

Overall.

With them they are always filtering each other and the whole thing is flipped.
It may not be natural .. Just absorbed over time n habitual..

They can snap at each other over minute things n illogically n cruelly judge valid differences...


whereas here even personality clashes and disagreements have more of a depth and respect still.

I am biased .. But think our way is more genuine and healthier for a healthy society i mean it is necessary

and provoking ppl as u say. Exactly.

Lots of funny stories about him. But it could fill a book.

He also loves all kinds of heavy metal and loud music and everything I dont like.

He also likes to look different with hair and clothes.

He is the only one in my entire family with tattoos.

He also intentionally speeds if he sees a cop car simply because he likes racing away from them and eventually pulls over. But he only does it for the thrill.

He does things impulsively for the excitement.


He once had to be hospitalized because he was having his friend drive a car in a circle as he hung out of it just holding on from the outside.


My youngest brother is sensory seeking . he has to gallop across the hall and bodyslam himself against the walls every night and day multiple times. He also leaves the home at odd times of the night because of how restless he is.

He had been diagnosed as autistic years ago by his school but hid it from us then. .

I guess these things must be common on the spectrum.

Thanks fr sharing as it has me thinking about the first brother I mentioned.

There are no bridges over the Amazon River.

This is not because the Amazon River would be too wide to build a bridge; for most of its length, engineers could build a bridge across the river easily. It's just that, most of the time, the crossing can be done by a ferry, so there is no need to build a bridge.

Not as far as I know. He's a sweetheart and helps anyone he can without making a fuss

houston is hell on earth. it is among the worst cities on the planet.


work culture & dependence on capital.

everyone that lives in houston basically lives here to work, not to live. it's not a nice place to live; it's hot and humid, the nature is polluted or non existent outside of the parks, and there's really not much to do here besides the food scene. however, many people come to houston because of the abundance of jobs, namely in the oil sector. a large plurality of houstonians are dependent on an industry that's endgoal is the destruction of the earth in the pursuit of money. additionally, the work culture makes any sort of culture/tradition in houston just a remnant of that person's home country. there's not really a sense of unity, everyone here seems to be from somewhere else and just here for work. houston is basically a large penal colonies for the proletariat to slave away for the bourgeois.

individualism & lack of community

houston is a city that focuses on the individual. everyone has their own house, their own car, maybe their own business. the bourgeois mentality is pervasive within a large majority of people. it's very rare to find a houstonian that cares about the community more than their own selfish interests. the driving culture is screenshot of the type of culture i'm trying to describe: everyone on the road is out for themselves, driving dangerously and cutting off others just to save 2 minutes on their commute.

a key consequence of the individualistic car culture is heavy amount of pollution choking the air. this is par for the course with any large city, but i want to underscore the lack of public transportation in houston. it really is terrible, and the only way you're going to get around reliably is with a car. the lack of any public infrastructure not only makes people more isolationist but actively promotes further pollution of the air. continuing, the surrounding nature, such as the bayou and the gulf coast, have been decimated by pollution. eating anything out of the river is considered akin to a death wish; such a large portion of waterways around the houston area is polluted that it's astonishing.

all in all, houston is a city built by capitalism and the core tenets of liberalism. the result is disastrous: an ugly, polluted concrete jungle whose citizens are infected with bourgeois desires and are some of the most isolated and self interested people in the world. it's a symbol of the doom that capitalism will bring upon us all.
