I had to clear up a matter with my school earlier today, but am still waiting for it to be resolved.

I love being at a point i can consider myself old and laugh at young'uns...this underlines that I've reached that stage.
Imagine how much better it will feel in 20 years from now.
I have no idea why people want to look/feel young to fit in among younger people.

Being older than others is better.
Younger people laughing at someone for being 'old' is just a defence mechanism--because they have no reason to feel superior, they try to.
The older person if mature can notice the insecurity n immaturity and feel neutral.

actually find this absolutely horrid

does not turn me on in the slightest, and do not understand the morally and spiritually bankrupt individuals who enjoy this type of content (zoomers and pedophiles)

why share that - if you yourself don't like the content (nastiness) why spread it? ugh.. i actually pressed play expecting something else. the 'pedophiles' comment should have alerted me, but that word is used for all kinds of random reasons on the internet.

i just realized the reason people in my family and friends list have been sharing quotes and memes with jinnah and iqbal...

it's freaking independence day for them!

gosh Jinnah was a L
but he didn't look evil

in fact he looked very handsome (before the illness manifesting).
and no bad vibes.

but still... :|
actually Gandhi was a L too wasn't he.
what the heck. actually Obama was too.
what on earth is with this world and having Ls leading them.
i guess it's better than fascism... :?
i wonder if there's been an overlap (i mean in leadership for a country/group of ppl... not within a client-solicitor situation)

i'm gonna say Jinnah wasn't the real leader, just a speaker/spokesperson on behalf of XYZ...
i don't know enough about iqbal to say whether Jinnah was HIS spokesperson but i'd rather have a poet
for a leader than a L. no matter how normal the L seems.

i wish i cd sleep

okay so i am mentally trying to translate this poem shared by iqbal society (why the heck do i follow them if i barely understand it)
and i realized they translate in a way that is REALLY OFF (like totally changes OR obscures the meaning)
JUST SO THEY CAN GET THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION TO RHYME.
what on earth. isn't that with Omar Khayyam's most famous translation too.
Who cares about rhyming or trying to match the meter --in the translation of anything, I just want the accurate meaning.

Or they're just really unclear trying to sound all stylized and poetic in the translation instead of straightforward word for word.

Okay so here is their piss-poor translation:
Slavery—exile from the love of beauty: Beauty—whatever free men reckon so;

What even.

The actual & straightforward word-for-word translated line, even with my patchy knowledge, is

"What is slavery? Being deprived of the love of beauty.
Whatever free men pronounce as beautiful, is beauty."

Ugh, I really hate this extreme hypersensitivity to humidity or whatever I’ve developed lately. I’m cold. I have goosebumps. Not particularly nervous or anything. But still I’m sweating. Why, body, why? I dry myself off from the shower, and five minutes later I’m damp all over again. This is really obnoxious. Yet at the same time I feel like I shouldn’t complain because it’s nowhere near as bad as the truly drenching night sweats that I’ve heard other people with lymphoma have, so horrible they wake up in the middle of the night and have to change clothes and sheets because they’re all soaked. So in comparison, I really have it easy.
