1. I have a generation skip in my family. My father's mother died young, and so my grandparents adopted him. I have cousins that are a lot older than me, it's strange.

2. I have never lived near the ocean, swam in it, or spent time on a fishing boat. I'll be doing that this summer when I move, first thing.

3. I am absolutely in love with Stephen King. I adore his books, his humor, his ability to write.

4. I have a absentee mother, with a serious mental illness. We do not know where she is. Said mental illness runs in both sides of the family.

5. I was obsessed with Final Fantasy for several years and only recently grew out of it.

6. I have two non-life threatening cysts in my head, one is in my left eye socket (you can see it protruding beneath the skin) and the second is in my brain.

7. I once had hair that was really long, down to my belt line. I had to cut it because I was too young to take care of it (I was 6, and it was matted) and I've been trying to grow it back ever since.

8. I have a really bad memory from some medications that I used to take. I am constantly misplacing things, like my iPod or my glasses. I sometimes forget to eat, and I have to be reminded several times when there is a doctor's appointment.

9. I have always dreamed of being able to play the violin, but I don't own one and my parents never invested in lessons.

10. I have a stepsister that has been from coast to coast in Canada, she lives in Halifax, but has visited us in Victoria.

A lot of the time I am very similar to that... both the speech and hand motions. I never thought much about it until now. Although, I have never wandered off anywhere on my own, but because I've always had a fear of going anywhere on my own.


Grew out of it? Why?? I'm not obsessed with them, but Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite game, and I like FFIX a lot too.

2. I'm partial to anything minor in popularity, be it languages, instruments, music, et cetera.

5. I appear to be the only one in my state that prefers cold weather, especially rain and snow, to hot weather, and I frequently get flak for it...

6. My favorite show is Futurama. I've seen every episode like 5 times, clearly not enough.

7. I'm a night owl. I love the peacefulness of the night, and also learn much better late at night, which is when I prefer to do my language studies.

8. I love traveling, but haven't left my state more than a handful of times, and have never been further south/east than Arizona, and only to Canada a couple times. I wish we traveled more.

9. My last name means "hot" in German. Yeah, really creative my ancestors were. (Well, to be honest, my last name comes from my dad's adoptive father, but I actually am part German from my mom's side)

10. I love camping and hiking, although I never get to anymore since I always went with my dad, who I no longer ever live with.

Yeah, I'm a weirdo

We might know each other from someplace else. I tend to keep different usernames on different sites and then my location shifts genuinely from year to year. If we knew of each other vaguely, it'd be hard to track me.

1. I have lived in Nova Scotia my entire life (minus 3 1/2 months I spent in Yukon one summer working--I was still officially a Nova Scotian though.)
2. I dropped out of high school...but I did get my diploma four years later. Now working toward a Bachelor's degree.
3. My eye colour has changed a lot since I was born: blue, then bluish-grey, then grey, now they are greenish-grey and have been for about 8 years at least.
4. I can read Hebrew--I taught myself how in about a week approximately six years ago.
5. I have Malignant Hyperthermia.
6. I have to sleep with my TV on (for light) after watching even semi-scary movies.
7. I love photography, and like to think that I could be really good at it with the right equipment.
8. I want to be a published writer someday. Writing is how I best communicate with other people.
9. I really, really, really want a dog, but I am not allowed to have any pets in this house.
10. I have never been in a relationship before, and probably never will be.

Here are some facts about me (more to come):

1.I have hazel eyes with gold flecks in them.
2.I have short dark brown hair.
3.I have a phobia of going blind (scotomaphobia). It's the worst because I am a very visual person.
4.I started reading when I was 3, swimming when I was about 2.
5.I am the first in my family to get a college degree.
6.I am obsessed with books. The local library and Barnes & Noble are my homes away from home.
7.I can translate from English to Spanish and vice versa from time to time. I want to learn Italian and German.
8.I slipped down a wet hill and shattered my right ankle. Had to have two surgeries for that one (one to put the hardware in and one to take it out). For the former I was housebound for three months and the latter had me housebound for only weeks. Not fun.
9.I love TV game shows. My favorite is "Wheel of Fortune".
10. I am a published poet because I have had three poems published in the same online magazine.

1. I was diagnosed with Asperger's first at 3, then more recently on March 13, 2014. Since then, every March 13 has been 'Rediscovering Myself Day' for me.

2. I love sports so much. My love of them has gotten to the point where I collect sports stuff and even pepper sports references every now and then in my daily conversations.

3. On that note, back when I was in high school over a decade ago, I made this thing in my mind called "The Simulator" where I simulate old sporting events or game show episodes and let's just say I am in the game, and in the audience and and announcing at the same time! I love to reminisce about the past and actually re-live it as if it were actually happening at that moment! I even try and imagine every little detail, including what uniform was worn, what stadium it took place in, et al.

4. I have been in love with anime, since the beginning of my life, actually! I watched Japanese cartoons on Nickelodeon in the late 1980s, but it wasn't until the late 1990s that my love for it actually took off with Pokemon, Digimon and Sailor Moon.

5. I have been having thoughts of moving to L.A. since 2010, so that dream's been with me a while. I still won't give up on it.

6. Even though most of it is close to 30 years old, I still love music from the 1980s (and some from the late 1970s and 1990s), even though I was born in 1987; I feel like music had more substance then. It doesn't compare to the 'junk' that passes for music, IMO, that has been put out since 2005.

7. I have been drawing in the Garfield (Jim Davis) style since 1999, when I was in the 7th grade. It all started with a 'How To Draw Garfield' book, and I haven't stopped since.
