I got a kitten when I was about twelve, and named it Tinki.
At first we didn't know if the cat was male or female, so the name Tinki could fit either way.... Luckly it turned out to be a girl cat.

The avatar is a painting of an orange that I've made.

that is coincidental. i had a cat when i was 12 that was called "tinky"
i heard her meowing (she was a kitten with no mother around) under an abandoned fridge at school when i was 12 and when my father picked me up i asked him if i could take it home. i did not name it at first, but my father referred to it as "stinker" (she did not smell). then he called it "stinky" when we got home, and i shortened the name to "tinky". she was black and white.

such beautiful paining and drawing. i really like the impression of simplicity at first glance, but a closer look reveals a depth of texture and tone.

my favourites, though, are the mixed media assemblages!

My name: nissa_amas_katoj means Nissa loves cats in Esperanto, an artificial language. It was recently pointed out to me that it should really be 'Nissa amas katojn' because the word cats should be in the accusative case. To which I replied, the accusative case is EVIL and must DIE. Anyway I'm not changing it because people have a hard enough time pronouncing 'katoj', 'katojn' would just make their heads explode and leave goo all over the floor.

My avatar is an anime character named Chachamaru. I have a cat named after Chachamaru. I have cats named after practically everybody since I live on a farm and have lots of cats.

Wow, what a coincidence...

My cat had long hair, and a kind of tiger pattern. She lived for about 15 years I think.. I loved her very much.

Thanks! :D

I have been inspired by a norwegian painter "Odd Nerdrum" He uses for example: his finger, cotten rags, painting knive and sandpaper additional to brushes.

In the mixed media pictures I've used things found on the beach.... seashells, rocks, sand...

My name is a synonym for greedy, though I use it because I like the way the word sounds, I'm not actually greedy.

My avatar is an image I made from prohtographs taken from the game Dino Crisis, which was one of the first games I played. Lots of good memories associated with that avatar.

My name that I use on the WrongPlanet (glider18) comes from a nickname I got about the time I entered kindergarten back in 1970. I was the batboy for the high school baseball team that my father coached. The players called me "Glider." The "18" was picked because it represents the time that I graduated from high school in 1983 and began having to make much more serious decisions about my life---college, career, etc.

My avatar picture is a picture taken of me in 1972 when I was 7 years old (almost 8 years old). That was the year that my special intense interest in roller coasters began. I have always loved roller coasters. A lot of interesting things happened that year. I saw Serpent Mound in Adams County, Ohio for the first time. I joined Little League baseball for 3 years of hell---I learned I hated contact sports. I was growing and was the tallest in my class. I was getting ready to enter the 2nd grade---a grade that my teacher commented that I had trouble settling down to work. But I got excellent marks nonetheless. I understood what was going on in class---I just like to daydream. Something happened to my body I didn't understand---as I wandering about the house, my mother noticed that one side of my sternum was quite noticeably protruding more than the other side. She asked if I had been hit at school. I hadn't been hit. She made an appointment with my pediatrician. The doctor was not concerned and dismissed it to my allergies. To this day I cannot find a connection between allergies and this sternum problem. Around 1972, I began playing the organ---an instrument I still play regularly.

The way that Mick Avory looks in my avatar, is the way that I look, without even trying to look that way. We're two sweet peas in a pod, born 30 years apart. I last looked like this, in 1996 when I was healthy, before I became clinically depressed and psychotic. I've prayed that the people at my clubhouse and everybody here at WP could see me as I was, before I got sick. It seems that my two mental health issues have vanished, I didn't need glasses in the first place, and I'm back to the way that God made e to be. The glasses are a different story. They belong in another thread.

I want to give up on explaining my avatars, because they just change with my mood, anyways. My avatar says that I'm a very moody person, and that I have a hard time, keeping an even keel and that's why it changes so much.

I picked my username because I wanted a pearl jam song, and this one just seemed appropriate for a username - and it wasn't taken already

and my avatar is kind of self explanatory because of my username - I'm a huge pearl jam fan
