my prepaid mobile phone credit lasts for only 30 days whether i use it or not.
the minimum recharge value i can put on it is $20 and i make 1 phone call per month from it to my friend who i visit once per month (to tell her that i am near to arriving). the call to her costs $1.10, and the next month, i have to pay another $20 to recharge the credit so i can ring her...ad infinitum.

how my money can expire within 30 days regardless of my usage is a very shady business plan by ****** (the telephone company)

Fast cars should be illegal.
No car should be allowed to go faster than the legal maximuum speed limit in the country it is sold in.

Product branding or whatever it's called should be illegal. I went off Disney proper after I read the ingredients on 'Princess Toasties'

The sexualization of children should be illegal. Why on earth would any mother want their 10-yr old DD to wear a padded bra 8O

Gift cards that depreciate in value if you don't use them. It's a rip-off when a $50 gift card is worth only $35 three months later due to " maintenance fees".

Yearly interest rates on loans that exceed the yearly increase in the cost of living.

Adjustable-Rate Mortgages (ARMs), especially ones with balloon payments.

Televised sporting events - they're supposed to be participatory, even if you only cheer from the sidelines; but sitting on your butt in front of your TV does nothing to inspire your favorite team to victory.

Tobacco. 'Nuff Said.

one needs an amount of reserve to get one out of trouble in tight situations.

I don't intend for this thread to be an argument thread, so please stay on topic and just list what you think should be illegal but it is currently legal where you live.

smoking, music, tattoo, asking a stranger for money, trash people, drinking alcohol (except a glass of wine per day), religion, owning more than one house (or maybe more than a certain value), makeup, owning more than a certain amount of money (and other assets), perfume, having more than a certain number of children, talking loudly in public, noisy cars/motorbikes, ripping off consumers and many more...

I used to go to one Walmart years ago in which the guy at one of the doors would always check my bags and receipt when I was leaving. My guess is that he saw me as someone non-threatening who wouldn't give him a hassle about it.

Hiring and promotion based on anything other than an individual's ability to do the job - no nepotism, no bribery or sexual "favors", and no Affirmative Action.

Absolutely not. SO wrong. You clearly can't even imagine how many life threatening situations & pointless confrontations my turbochargers have saved my friends & I from. I've lost count. Sports cars have very real applications in the right hands.

Guess who speeds the most anyway? Certainly not gearheads, that would be police.

I don't see why fast cars, alcohol, or tobacco should be made illegal. Sometimes you need to go over the speed limit to get out of a sticky situation, or simply to pass people on the highway, and drug prohibition is THE worst way of dealing with the problems drugs cause, because people will keep using them anyway and create an underground market. I think all drugs should be legalized, with comprehensive harm-prevention programs put in place to help addicts and their loved ones.

Product branding or whatever it's called should be illegal. I went off Disney proper after I read the ingredients on 'Princess Toasties'

The sexualization of children should be illegal. Why on earth would any mother want their 10-yr old DD to wear a padded bra 8O

-Plenty of people would still illegally modify their cars to make them go faster.

-Why is it Disney's fault you failed to read the ingredients before determining if you felt it was something you wanted to feed yourself or your child? might sound blunt but not really sure they can be held reliable unless they lied about ingredients or something. Are you more likely to read ingredients on something if it doesn't have a fancy brand name? maybe that should be illegal.

-I suppose I agree, though haven't heard of many parents wanting their 10 year old wearing a padded bra per say...though I know I needed a bra starting at age 10, though by padded I hope you mean the ones actually meant to make them look bigger...if you just mean general padding like for support that should depend more on the breast size than age.
