No, they don't have every forum for that, because they don't own everything. The title of this thread is "The Theist Sanctuary", and the author of the thread let it clear what his intention was when he created it (it's there, in the first page, first post). So, despite of the fact that atheists (as WP members) are free to post wherever they want (and that's true), I don't see why they'd post here having in mind the clear objective of the thread.

That's it. I had said I wouldn't be debating anything because I didn't join WP to be debating, much less religion, or faith, or whatever can be related to them. Discussing religion (read first post) and debating the existence of G-d (for example) in an offensive way are, also, two different things. The last is supposed to happen in the PPR forum, where I post no more.

Oh I'm sorry, shrox! I write it this way because we Jews have this habit. But I can write it "God", no problem. :)

Before I will say that I will keep out of this thread as best as I can,
I would like some advice that I can give to a Catholic couple {Well, they are not a couple
anymore as their divorce was finalized about 3 WKS ago.} who have had a very rough
time trying to make any sort of social connection at the parish they went to together.

They have a son, who I have known for a while now and it will be 10 YRS this
October since we met for the first time.

The reason this family has a hard time trying to make social connections
at the church they went to is because their son has autism..."regular" autism.
They have gone to at least two other Catholic churches in the Portland area
where they experienced the same problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Why judge a person on their beliefs about death, when a more honest conviction can be brought to light pertaining to their beliefs over life?

The majority of WP members seem to be atheist. The PPR forum can be miserable for a religious person.
I would like to discuss my faith without being judged and insulted. My assumption is that other theist feel the same way.
I can't logically explain how God can exist but I just know. When I look up at the sky I know that their is something greater than all of us.
I don't see very many theist on the PPR forum and I understand why.

If anyone wants to discuss religion with me then I will be glad to listen.
I think it's unfortunate how all the worlds problems are blamed on religion.

I request that the moderators Don't move this thread to the PPR forum.

There should not be a singular thread or subforum of relegation for theists when the rest is atheistic. However, I do not believe the situation to be as bad as you portray or even as bad as it was when I first joined WP in 2007, but there is more freedom of speech now than before and as such those who are theists should not merely relegate themselves to such. Instead, since for anyone who actually believes anything it is also a part of their thoughts and not merely some creed on paper alone, theists should just as be free to posts their thoughts on religious matters as atheists are and do.

Dear Iamnotaparakeet, I agree with your post completely! My view of the purpose of this thread is that it is for us who want to share our beliefs and support and encourage one another. I believe that there is space for one little room for us to get together and enjoy each others' company and learn about each other and about what it is really like to live the beliefs many of us have no personal experience of. WP has lots of places to argue in, and anyone who wants to defend a faith or church or religion or holy book knows just what discussion forum to find someone to defend against. I can argue as well as anyone onWP, I think, but I also think that I should have this one little room to come to to peacefully enjoy the company of others who believe.
I don't think we're relegating ourselves, most of us have plenty to say in other discussions, but if we want this one little room, we should be able to have it.

Meh, ye think you're funny don't ya? I'm not arguing against this thread being used, but against the limitations of the freedom of speech imposed almost particularly upon Christians. Whether the relegation is imposed externally or self imposed, it should not be. To keep quiet as the world sends itself to Hell is tantamount to genocide via negligence of the Great Commission.

Ahh, if only I had admin status

Why only temporarily?

Yeah its a good idea to delete it then the theists can discuss homophobia, abortion and creationism in Random (since these are the only actual "religious" topics that seem to get hostility, despite them being politics masquerading as moral dilemmas)

If PPR goes, I go.

Although, saying that might help the case for deleting it!

You know how badly I react to weed, right? And you know how traumatised I am by growing up Catholic?

If you do, you're being a jerk.
