... .... I think that kinda statement would go down well, round these parts. United Kingdom is a nation of bird lovers... for sure.

they say this is the Grunge Stairway to Heaven, but I detect a little Free Bird too.
Both songs I can't find fault with. Very Ape ...yeah. In Utero. Nirvana. I like the whole album.
I like some of Pearl Jam stuff too. That's a cover. Apparently this is the original. Mother Love bone. ( I think their lead singer died, before the grunge movement really took off, 1990, that's all I know about them.)
Oh and to stay on topic....
I seen Magpies, the other day, a pair...jumping around, one was on a satellite dish. There are tons of birds, where I live. Can't help but spot them all the time.

Mother Love Bone included versions of this song on their EP and their Full length, but said dead guy, Andrew Wood - was performing it in his previous band, Malfunkshun, so it is a semi cover of a semi cover? [The bassist and a guitarist from Mother Love Bone formed Pearl Jam.]
Ill probably be posting more on that in the future, Andrew Wood related music, but for now Ill just say I found my post, in the other bird thread..
There's a lot of birds around here. Some of my favorites:
White Cockatoos (yellow); groups usually fly over once a week or so; there's a really large one that hits the small bird bath here to drink on the way through, which looks quite funny when he's hanging on to the side and he flaps his wings for balance; some find the noises they make annoying Black Cockatoos (yellow and red ones); they fly from inland when storms are coming; they make interesting noises that likely wouldn't be that unpleasant for many; they seem to enjoy pulling bark and branches off trees when they hang around Wedge-tailed Eagles; you see them floating around on the air now and again; I've seen pairs of them before, but it's usually singles King Parrots are quite striking due to the red Crows; I like how they remember you and give you gifts if you do something for them (bread, for example)
People keep the White Cockatoos (Sulphur-crested/yellow) as pets here. They live for a long time and are friendly enough. My mother had one. They can be a handful apparently, likely for obvious reasons, like their size.

Just the usual bunch visiting the feeder. Titmice, Nuthatch, Goldfinch,Juncos,Cardinals,Wrens,Jays,Pine Siskins, white throated sparrows ,Downy woodpecker and Chickadees. I saw a Brown Thrasher using the bird bath.He lived up to his name. Heard a few Bluebirds, hope they find the nest box acceptable for a home.

I've grown up with a family tree of Magpies for about 24 years now. It started on a rather hot and dry year and a male kept on coming up to me for water/food. From then on, he hung around with his "wife" and brought his children, which then went down the generations. They kinda kept on getting bigger and bigger, so I think the bread was forcing evolution. Likely just "better" nutrition. They greet me when I exit the house in the morning from the trees, and they'll come flying down if I call them.
Last year I had to bury a young female from the family that was bitten by a snake. That one kinda upset me because I'm funny like that. The sad calls from the trees got to me. The dad also hung around the "grave" for a bit.

I recently spent a few days on the Peace River: limpkins, kingfishers, ibis, white egrets. Great blue, little blue and tricolor herons. red-shouldered hawks, cardinals. Catbirds. Blue-grey gnatcatchers; how I love these little birds. Black vultures. Three bands of turkeys, including one group of three jakes with their beards jutting out.

The first male hummingbird this spring, trying to find something to eat in the few bromeliads I have blooming. Very close, good light, his red gorget clear and bright.
