We're talking about something similar. You can find all sorts of information about modern "communes" and other types of cohousing, etc. at The Fellowship for Intentional Community. The Fellowship for Intentional Community

Im pretty sure we covered just about everything, I think we should get this thing started 8)
Im still sticking with the apartment idea.. Its cheap, and its (in my humble opinion,) a great experience.

To address the "pets can be outside while allergic people are inside" idea: firstly, pet dander lingers, so it wouldn't do any good. Secondly, not all pets are outside-capable. See: hamsters, which are usually as bad as cats allergy wise.

They can keep their pets in their rooms, then. Username, how about a rooming house? Each person has a room and a bathroom. :) Outside-capable pets can of course be let outside.

hey ill join, but i insist we have our own land, an independent nation, I love economics and military history/stratigy, and I be like the Allen Greenspan of our nation, or even Maby an Eisenhower?

Ahh... then again we want a utopian society, we dont want a millitary, or weapons, or stocks or currency.

Well... in the least I know how to do responsible and sustanible logging, I like astronomy maby we can have a space program? I like building, maby I can do some carpentry?

Hmm... maby the space program thing is a little outa our budget, hehehe, i let my imagination get a little to far ahead.

Yea happens to me too sometimes
But I think we should start small and work up to having our own land etc. etc.
We should work fast too... Starting small isnt hard, all we need is an apartment complex or something of the sort.. And we should be set. I mean, I dont want to completely lose my mind from being in the current situation that Im in.. A life like this, even if its in an apartment, would be the best thing thats ever happened to me!

It happens to me too! Here I was thinking about the morgue! :)

I agree with you, username, but how common are TOTALLY EMPTY apartment complexes for sale? It's against the law to kick tenants out like that... we'll probably have to build our own anyway. :)

What you do is by a building set up a guide lines to were people are aloud to live in there. Make it a nonprofit origination to give homes for people like us. So people can make them self’s feel good and give us money and them self’s tax breaks. It also allows us to bypass laws like who we can let in or not ect.

That's a good idea; I' totally agree with you and was thinking the same thing. I'll add it... did you read the first page in the thread, where it mentions ideas for the design? :D

Apartment complexes are sold all the time  A long time ago I found this wicked cheap and rather HUGE apartment complex in Bulgaria... But it seems that most people here want to stay in the America/Canada range so Im sure we could find a good deal around here as well. Hopefully TheMachine1 comes across something good soon 8) Is he still involved? Havent seen him post in here in a while. I still have faith in him though.

PLEASE post the link to the Bulgaria one! Do it NOW! :D You don't need to speak Bulgarian to be a citizen? Is it easy to become one? Is it easy to become a permanent resident? Otherwise we can still be visitors... officially still in Canada/US but living in Bulgaria. :D We'd need passports, of course... I have one that's good for another 2 and a hlaf years... we'll have to include that in the costs we have to fundraise for.

I LOVE the idea of being in a foreign country where people think outr wierdness is just something about being foreign or North American or whatever. :D

EDIT: And Arad, please tell me the same stuff about Taiwan that asked UN88 about Bulgaria!
