I love the cakes in this thread -- the rainbow-sensory-overload cake and the one with the strawberry people on top. Very clever/cute.

I took this photo a long time ago (early 90's?) from the Oakland Hills -- the city in the distance is San Francisco (the little point in the distance is the Transamerica Pyramid). This was about a week after the Oakland Hills fire, which is why the tree look strange. There was a very expensive neighborhood that was removed by the fire, which opened up a lot of amazing views of the SF, the bay, etc.

WooooooooW!! The first photo of yours here with the close up of the waterdrops in the sink is one of the most extraordinary photos I have ever seen. Its sooo coool!!
You probably have the most advanced camera you can have to bring that on!

PrincessMR1899, Sallamandrina,Henriksson, Tory_canuck and outlier, thanks also for sharing your personal photos, keep them comming in!

Henriksson, where is your photos taken?

Apple_in_my_Eye
Your Oakland hills photo looks like fiction, like its from a fairy tale movie, impressive!

And I still have to get myself to create a watermark or at least learn how to type the copyright symbol into the photo as its seen above - before I bring on more photos....

About twenty meters from my house or so.

EDIT: Correction, more like 150 meters. I'm really bad at distances.

^okay, Im even worse on distances and cant get a grip on either 20 or 150 meters. If someone told me "its about the same distance as it is to your grocery store" or "its ten minutes walk" then I can understand distances but not in numbers and meters... :?
Anyway, no matter how close it is you seemes to live on or very close to the countryside. I like such places when its summer!

^ I can't even judge how long a meter is, never mind 150 of them. :(

Hala and all of you regular photographers of this thread who have an (from xalepax assumed) huge photoarchive:

I have an idea. We can have fun with each others photos and put diffrent themes together and by this see each others photocreativity clearer and also give feedback on it...

Like for example. Someone says "winter" then brings on winterphotos" the rest follow with what we have. Then when its time for a new theme, someone else suggest "water" and we bring on our photos water related". If a photo contains both winter and water (like one of yours Hala) then its up to you which category you like to put it into.

I got the idea out of seeing photos here which I have similuar photos of but if someone is not interested in this then there is a simplier version:

Somone post a photo and if someone else have a similuar photo then simply post a photoresponse and thats it.....

I took a break from scenery/miscellaneous to have a shot (no pun intended ) at animal photography. I'm not great but I'm learning. :)

Hala, you are pretty good!! ! I dont think there is anything you could do better in your photos! just wondering, what lenses do you use, what are your tricks to getting photos with such great color and saturation and everything.

A photo I took a couple hours ago, I almost missed the sunset, because I was here posting, got there just in time, 10 minutes later it was pretty much gone. :D (hmm, for some reason it is way darker here then it is on my computer, guess it is the photo sharing site that made it darker)

Thanks!
I use a Nikon D60 with an 18-55mm VR lens and a telephoto 55-200mm VR lens.
(Although a couple of the photos I have shown were taken with my old Point&Shoot (HP Photosmart R927))

As for colour and saturation, I don't do a lot to my photos. I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 to slightly alter the levels, which adds contrast and, in turn, brightens the colours. Other than that most of the photos are pretty much straight out of the camera.
