"Bug juice" was merely something like Hi C or whatever---a cheaper version of it.

I think you know the answer :)

... aren't all noodles that aren't in any form of liquid buttered to prevent sticking?

I'm not really sure....but I like buttered noodles, anyway :)

Think about yourself as a patient of Freud, Sentient Potato. Lying on the couch. Think of funny things from your childhood---even "bad" funny things. We laugh about our "bad" funny things here on WP.

1. I learned about gravity from “Spinning Wheel” by Blood, Sweat and Tears (What goes up, must come down)

2. I sang “99 Bottles of Beers on the Wall” on the camp bus going home”

3. I didn’t think the 99 bottles of beer falling off the shelf on the wall constituted “A waste of alcohol.”

#3 is correct.

There is a version of the song which went...."If one of the bottles should happen to fall, what a waste of alcohol!"

And I agreed!

In honour of my dad and the approach of Father's Day, here's some family history:

1. My grandmother didn't know she was pregnant, when she gave birth to my dad in her kitchen in 1934
2. Dad was extremely premature, but they had no way of determining his true due date
3. There were no emergency medical services so my grandfather kept Dad alive with oxygen from a welding torch
4. When he began to breathe on his own, my grandpa wrapped Dad in a tea towel inside a baking dish, in the oven
5. My grandmother went into shock and nearly died

Are all these things true?

If not...then I would say the lie is that your grandmother didn't go into shock, because she knew what she had to do.

1. My grandfather was born in 1899.

2. My mother was born in 1934.

3. One of my grandfather's brothers died about 1902 from diabetes.

Exactly.
She didn't go into shock but all the rest is true.
My grandpa saved his life.

Makes me think of a song... Lol.

It's sad that your grandpa did what he did-----because he saved a life.

If I saved a life, I'd never even think of "doing" myself.

(or is this the other grandpa?)

Same grandpa. Dad's side.

Hence, the three ducks.

Once, following what another student asked, I grabbed some wires he was holding out, only to be met with the 300 volts he set the power supply they were connected to.

When I was about 5, I took a children's book and started cutting out certain letters just because I liked the look of them and imagined grabbing the letters off the page as if they were tangible. I got in a lot of trouble for that.

Another time I got detention when I stuck a plastic spoon halfway on the handle into the edge of a box, and started using it as a catapult to launch pieces of a plastic fork I broke up for ammo.

#1 for Sentient Potato? Maybe the voltage was different?

In 1934, it was the Depression all around the world. People had to fend for themselves. It was a tough time.

But it taught many people many things. It taught people to not give up when the going gets tough.

I'm glad nobody just up and gave up in that situation! Otherwise....No Isabella!

1. The unemployment rate in the US in 1934 was over 20%

2. People went to the movies in droves in 1934.

3. Most people just rolled up and played dead in 1934.
