Presumably to further research into associated fields.. I gather cloning is still illegal etc so hopefully no Frankenstein style experiments too soon

The famous 19th century fossil hunter, Dorset born Mary Anning is often believed to have found the first Icthyosaur fossil skeleton at the age of 12, but this isn't technically true. It was her brother.

This isn't to say that she wasn't inspirational in the world of Palaeontology though. She deserved more credit than she got, as her discoveries and studies were more than often credited to male members of the field with higher social rankings. Being a female from a poor background, working a dangerous and messy job (considered 'man's work') was seen as rather eccentric at the time and she was often overlooked and even mocked by those she worked with and the local people of her hometown of Lyme Regis, until later on in her life.

A meteor named Amun 3554 is full of twenty trillion (TRILLION) dollars worth of platinum.

For real.

Google it!

Can anybody around here build a really, really tall ladder?

WHY SOME OF US ARE LEFTIES-
most cases of left-handedness are thought by many scientists to be due to compromised oxygen supply before birth. but the evidence relies heavily on statistics. twins, for example, have a high proportion of neurological problems due to crowding in the womb and are twice as likely to be lefties as singletons. the mentally ret*d, epileptics, and children with learning disorders are disproportionately left-handed. the largest population of lefties is found among autistics, of which 65% are lefties. in 2007, a gene thought to be contributory to left-handedness was found, it is called LRRTM1 and is also associated with a slight increase in mental illnesses such as schizophrenia later in life. it is passed through fathers to their sons and tends to manifest comorbids most often after the age of 40.

SOME PERILS OF BEING A LEFTIE-
migraines, allergies, dyslexia, stuttering, some mental illnesses, skeletal malformations, accident-proneness and thyroid disorders are all suffered more by lefties. according to a university of washington study done some decades back, some lefties [about one in ten] have an irregularity with their corpus collusum [that thingie that links the left and right brain hemispheres and allows coordination of bilateral neural functioning] which has been found to cause increased proneness to physical clumsiness/accident-proneness. the outward physical trait which is a external marker for this, is the tendency of affected lefties to write with the top of their pen or pencil pointed outward away from their torso rather than inward toward their left shoulder. this same study said those unlucky lefties lived on average, 9 fewer years than the more fortunate lefties and righties.

SOME ADVANTAGES OF BEING A LEFTIE-
but lefties recover better from strokes than righties because 40% of them use BOTH SIDES of their brains to process speech, instead of only the left side as righties do. some of the world's greatest geniuses, including leonardo da vinci, michelangelo, and ben franklin were southpaws. the incidence of left-handedness is higher than average among the world's artists and scientists. although one out of ten people on earth is a leftie, the incidence of lefties in NASA's apollo space program was found to be one in four. at least 7 U.S. presidents were lefties, including the most recent POTUS. bill gates is a leftie.

LEFTIES ARE NOT [generally] SINISTER! maybe sneaky now and then, but mostly harmless :)

Thanks auntblabby :)
Had found some quite interesting documentaries whilst looking for something else but can't put em up here. All kinds of science, hours and hours of it, so will hopefully share them here asap on the off-chance anyone wants em.
Also lots of Shaw brothers films but no dub or sub :/

Anyways, this was all an elaborate bump.. ;)

Fudoichi-dai is another beast entirely, or just a God-awful translation
;)
Thanks Sylkat, situation is much the same really except I have a support worker again which is nice, but they see a lot of people so don't see them as often as I'd like.

Hope all is well with you, or as well as can be :)

About a year ago or so I discovered I may have a blood disorder known as haemochromatosis. I assume it's not terribly common. As far as I understand it, one way or another too much iron is absorbed or perhaps retained in the blood. It can be potentially fatal if left untreated but (again, as far as I know) not for someone my age.

Really should get that blood test..
Anyways, the treatment is simply blood-letting so I may one day get the leeches.. Or more likely the other way, but I'm rather averse to sharp objects so here's hoping I can have leeches.
Was quite interesting to me at least.

In my college class I came upon a article on coloning a baby to be perfect in human nature. In future years researchers will find a way to colon children towards different traits like eye color, skin color and personality and hair color. In the near future families will have the opportunity to list the perfect child to have these traits and Colon them and add the making of these traits in there system. Ahhhhh differences has turn it self around. What has this world got into.

I don't have a social worker, just a generic "support worker"...
No, I haven't told them, it rather escaped me. I should do that.

Sezzy, forgive my bluntness but... No they won't. Hair colour, eye colour etc seems plausible but pre-determined personality is a long long long way off, assuming it could ever be done.
