Is it sad that I forgot how to do long division with polynomials? Yes, definitely very sad indeed.

It's time for an Olympic Spring Around the World Marathon! Starting in the deserts of Egypt and running up the Giza pyramid! All contestants must also have no trace of fluids on them. So no water and no Sobe!

[I must memorize Morse Code!]

The Morse Code says "Portal" if you want to know.

Anyone around here?

The forum is so quiet at this time of day.

Today was both good and bad.
The good part is, it's sunny, which doesn't happen much where I live. And, even though I did pretty poorly on a recent calculus test, I had so much extra credit stored up that my average is still a 97.
The bad part is, I got cut from my Science Olympiad states team because I had only two events at regionals due to a schedule conflict. The people who get to advance to states are arbitrarily chosen by the number of points they got at regionals, which, of course, depended on how many events they had. :x

Dear Kevinjh, I was capitalizing dramatically because a new Discworld novel is VERY IMPORTANT to The Entire Reading World, and because Sir Terry deserves capitals. The book is 'Snuff'; I pre-ordered it on Kindle, and read it already. And could re-read it right now, and enjoy it just as much as the first reading, like all of his novels.

Dear Albirea, I am so sorry about the Science Olympiad.

Sylkat :D

Ah well, from a purely academic point of view, I won't be needing Science Olympiad. It won't help my college applications, after all, because they have already been submitted a long time ago.

(This attempt at comforting myself is apparently not working. I love science. )

Media exposure scares the fight-or-flight into me, especially of the non-essential kind.

OK, so apparently they are redoing the Science Olympiad team assignment with other factors included. I wasn't there for that part because right after they announced the "new" team, I walked out in disgust because so many people who rightfully deserved a place were denied them (me included, of course). Many other people complained as well.

Maybe you could try to start some kind of Research Race (I would be delighted to participate/help!)? Judging from what you have said, your primary motivation seems to be working with science rather than winning awards for college/university (which is the kind of attitude that causes many undergraduates to succeed even before graduating).

That's an excellent idea! But I doubt that it's something that the kind of people at my school would be interested in. Most of them are motivated by academics only.
Plus, I'm ridiculously behind on a lot of my schoolwork...
