Was talking music with a fellow Myoo yesterday, regarding 2 important bands bridging a gap between certain styles and influences..
Just wanted to throw the band living colour into that mix because they're often overlooked and it's a damn shame..
So there it is.. For Usagi. :)

A big part of the Mayan economy was based on food and agriculture. Farmers acted as a big part of the economy since they're the ones that brought in food for the civilization. Farmers gave up portion's of each crop, or paid with other items such as salt, cloth, honey, fruit, and domestic animals to the government and also used them to buy and trade goods.

The most important crop aws corn, also known as "Maize" to the Mayans. It is believe that the Mayans depended heavily on the crop. To produce corn fields farmers used a technique called slash-and-burn. Farmers would choose a jungled area and burn as many trees as possible. This not only cleared trees but also further fertilized the soil for better corn to grow. Many other crops such as beans, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, chili peppers, aracados, tomatoes, and groves of fruit trees were planted as well. Breadfruit trees were planted in case the corn crop failed. Cacao and cotton were grown as cash crops, and were also used to trade.

Many domestic animals such as cows, pigs, goats, and chickens were unknown to Myans. The only animals they raised were turkeys, guniea pigs, ducks, and edible dogs. Bees were also raised to produce honey for themselves or for trade.

Mayans were Known to hunt animals such as deer and wild boar as game meat using dogs and clubs. Blow pipes and pellets made of clay were used to hunt birds. The Mayans also caught fishes.

Dear Joker, I was just recently watching a show about Macchu Picchu, which gave an overview of their culture.....fascinating, really. And some of their stone-cutting has never been equalled.

Jimi Hendrix's last girlfriend, whose pills killed him, killed herself thirty years later.
She had written a book about him and made a point of being 'Jimi's Last Girlfriend'.
Jimi Hendrix's mother had been a prostitute, briefly, and after she married and gotten out of the life, her former pimp came looking for her.
Jimi's father took care of that.
The guy never came back.

Jimi Hendrix's grave monument is STILL not complete!
No one knows where Mozart is buried.
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Borden was buried at night, in secrecy, due to lingering public opinion.

Ah, but we do know the graveyard - just not the exact spot because he was interred as part of a mass burial in accordance with the law at the time of his death.

Very true.
And his body was covered with lime or quicklime to hasten decomposition.
And his sister was musically gifted, too, though not as brilliant as he was.
AND his wife was a bit of a flake!

Thanks Cornflake&Sylkat. :) sorry, kinda dropped out for a week.
Jimi's monument, when I saw Leon Hendrix standing with it had a really poor clipart style pic of a right-handed strat. Leon thought it pretty pathetic. That& he was rather stiffed by Jimi's stepsister, who I gather is running the legacy into the ground :/
Also, I haven't read it but I gather his last girlfriend later changed her account at least once. Said the mob did it at some point.
Mozart, I defer to others. Though if stories are to be believed he seems likely a savant with pretty much perfect sonic and eidetic memory... Which is just annoying frankly. lol
Now to listen to that track again :) Ty
