I just remembered that I took a plushie to the ER with me. I'm a little embarrassed, but I was so nervous and it helped a lot. I've been taking plushies with me to places because they make me less nervous. lol

I take a plastic monster named John with me when I'm nervous.
The idea is, "Nothing is as scary as John!"

Nothing wrong with that. I've brought Noire to appointments and whatnot. Sometimes having something cute with you is a good distraction.

This is all that matters imo, if you aren't harming anyone or yourself and the act of doing something helps you - do it.

No one really mentioned it and NGL I think the nurses were nicer to me because I was scared enough to bring it. I'm just embarrassed because I'm an adult and some people in the waiting room did stare at me when I was holding it. lol

^ Yeah, that's the biggest obstacle for a lot of us - worrying about other's perception of us and letting that stop us doing things that help.

I like to think I have a 'don't give a f*ck what you think' attitude, but it's not true.

I brought a dragon plushie with me on the plane last month when I flew to visit family. It's relatively big, enough to double as a cushion, but no one mentioned it or seemed put off by it

I think adults with plushies has become more mainstream nowadays, which is awesome

Same.

If people are judgmental I'll shittalk them with my plushie. They can't be the bully if I make it a 2 on 1.

I hate it when you put something in your shopping cart and then you keep getting email reminders about completing your purchase. Ffs I am going complete it but in my own time.

I was totally naked in a room full of dressed strangers. Everyone was pleased. No one was embarrassed. I was bathed by one of the strangers, wrapped up, then handed to my mother, who had just given birth.
