I annoyed my mum. She asked for my help making Halloween props for a work event, and I got really stressed out. The thing is I am very creative if given carte blanche, but if something more specific is expected (but not properly explained) I freeze up. She was definitely annoyed, I felt like I ruined a nice thing because we both love art and Halloween so we should have had fun together. Once she calmed me down though we did have fun, and I made some cool stuff. Still feel like I tainted it though

I only got 5 and 1/2 hours this week at my job. I hope it isn't because they think I'm a lousy employee, I haven't even been there two weeks and I thought I was doing a good job.

I agree. I write for a living and I've never even written a book.

Racheypie, even if your mum got a little frustrated in the short term, it's not like you did it on purpose, and you still got to enjoy the project together.

^It took me four years to write, and I just emptied an entire cardboard box full of old notebooks that I kept bits and pieces of the story in as I changed it.

Yeah similar experience here, I don't think autism is well liked in the work place but if you can fake it which I did to an extend (There were rumors) then it could be another reason. Even all that aside it could have nothing to do with you and more to do with how management splits the hours. If you haven't been there long, it could be they are just get you used to the job and then they'll give more hours.

I am nowhere near editing mine. I basically have to rewrite the whole thing. 15-year-old me did not understand the concept of a plot line. Or consistent characterisation. Or writing.
In the meantime, I may well have gone spontaneously insane - even contemplating the very idea of spending next year living with 42-ish eighteen year old (ish) kids in student accommodation, let alone any associated costings.
