I'm thinking about ways to either cope with/tolerate university or find the bravery needed to leave.

^I cry when I have to go back. It actually feels good to admit that. As usual, I keep my feelings hidden and go along with what other people want instead of what I want. That's probably one of my biggest 'flaws'.

(Quoting Kuraudo777s post) ^Now, so many years after I went to school, I have thought that I wish I had done more of an effort at school. I wish I had done my homework, I wish I had had the drive to get good grades.

I understand that it is a very tough decision you have to make. If you should decide to leave, where are you going to live? How do you plan to make an income?

^I suppose I'll live with my mum, and try to publish my book, sell my paintings/artwork, and eventually get a job at the library or something. I have had this wish to live in a warm, tropical place for years and years; I think I'm allergic to cold weather.

Depending on where you live in the world, there might be some support system that can help you (Here in Norway the state takes good care of you, and offers different kind of help) For eksample maybe there is a course you could take, that would make it easier to get a job at a library. Maybe you could meet up with a career counselor and talk about options.

What about trying to publish your book right now (while still in school) , then you will get some feedback on what possibilities there are.

^I'm hoping to be done editing it in two weeks, but I don't exactly have enough money to publish it right now.

I just realized that holiday must mean "holy day" since most holidays are based on some kind of religion.

So if you think it's PC or secular to refer to Christmas as "the holidays", you are so very wrong!

Kuraudo, it costs you nothing if you get your book published with a reputable publisher. This is true even if you use a reputable agent. All you need is lots of postage and a thick skin for rejection, which is really difficult, I know.

If you self-publish, you will spend varying amounts of money, depending on your self-publishing choices. You will have to market the book, all by yourself, and it will take quite a while to gain a following. There are so many books people can read from reputable publishers that you will have to have some really good marketing to build an audience that will read your book.

None of this has anything to do with you personally. These are just the paths that authors choose. You may also have an easier time publishing a short story, if you want to try that route first.

But don't take my word for it. When you start reading about publishing, you'll get some ideas.

I'm tired of the us-ing and them-ing that goes on here.

Do you care to explain what you mean by this?

There's a strong us vs them mindset in the world. If only everyone could see that there is no I or me or you or us or them or we, since all energy is interconnected. If only everyone could see how much they are love.
