If only they were the same age. Apparently, the events of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald occured at the same time as those in Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, making Brendan the same age as Red. If that is true, given that Red is shown in Sun and Moon to be at the very least in his mid-teens, it can be assumed that Brendan is also at least that old, making him a fair bit older than the female protagonist. But then again it is still speculation until the games actually get released.
