How did The Bangles manage to sound like The Monkees?

I'm trying to prove something by playing DJ. Trying to prove something to the cool kids on the WP playground. I should be true to myself and have my two favourite songs on repeat instead. My two favourite songs:

I'll try that from now on. It's easier. Sometimes it's better to be the Lone German than it is to try to be like everyone else.

I don't need to post every rock n roll song that I come across in order to be loved here. I've come to that realization last night when I caught myself in the act of playing DJ. I guess that was the byproduct of being a Cockney Rebel. I guess I was trying to prove that I like more than just two songs. That I was more than just a Schlager. So what if I'm just a Schlager? Isn't that better than trying to be like everybody else in the House of WP, like the rest of the kids on the WP playground?

What made me think it was such a good idea to try and fit in in the first place?

It seems as though my outro has become my theme song. I've ditched my intro. I no longer need to be a part of the In Crowd. I just need to be me.

Thinking I was part of the In Crowd was fun while it lasted. It's healthier and easier for me just to be myself.
