I have a serious headache impeding my functionality, might be getting dehydrated? Serious tension in shoulders and neck, and super cranky... haven't eaten since breakfast, which make me nauseous. I yelled at my kids, which made me feel like crap because they don't deserve that and apologizing only does so much. Better to have not done it in the first place.

Wow Cherie, great impression made today.... Totally ignore the fact that he came in especially to get the bag so you didn't have to take it tomorrow.

When you have one too many of these stupid one-sided...thingos throughout your life, you start to resent the subject of them a little.

This virtual stranger keeps KISSING me hello and goodbye.

It's someone who is just a new acquaintance; we have only run into each other three times now. But the second and third time, he leaned in and kissed me on the cheek when saying goodbye, and today also when saying hello and goodbye.

I don't even know what to do. I find it very difficult to just be instantly "WTF DUDE?" when everything before has been pleasant. I find it hard to switch "modes" when the other person says or does something I need to object to, in the middle of everything else being acceptable and normal.

I mean, don't get me wrong, if a man actually grabbed me and dragged me to the alley and tried to rape me, I'm pretty sure I would "change modes" and be screaming and kicking.

But when it's less serious than that -- like a "social greeting kiss on the cheek" that I don't want -- I find it hard to just stop everything and ask not to be kissed.

It's a social convention in the UK now, it seems, but I think it's really unhygienic and intrusive, especially from someone who is not even actually a friend...

AAAAAGHGHHGHHH. Rant over. I don't want to be kissseseeeedddddddddd. Not by a stranger!! !! GAAAAH

I guess you can't help having admirers!

But I know what you mean, Birdie. I'm not especially affectionate myself, especially with men.

I'm actually very affectionate within a relationship, myself -- I love kisses when it's with a boyfriend or husband.

But this is a guy I've only run into three times now. I think it's so inappropriate. But the UK now seems to do these "continental" cheek kisses that they never did years ago. Everyone's turning French in England!

I love physical affection with someone I've already come to know and love as a friend, partner, boyfriend or spouse; bring it on, lol.

But with total strangers, yeeeeeech!

Listening to my parents loudly and drunkenly ranting about the Confederate flag controversy.

They're in their sixties, each has the IQ of a tree stump, and they believe everything they hear on TV.

So you can imagine how fun this was for me. I'm still dizzy.

My mother told me that my brother told her over the phone that PC computers are becoming obsolete. There is no way I am replacing my computer by the end of the year with some newfangled object if I can't play my Sims 2, 3, and 4 games on it! If anything The Sims 3 and 4 should at least work better on a newer, faster computer.

My mother doesn't seem to know the difference between apps you download and CD games. I had to explain, as best as I could to her, that The Sims Freeplay is NOT the same as The CD versions, it's just a simplified portable version. In fact I haven't played The Sims Freeplay in months and they could have "retired" it for all I know. :x

"Mandatory" updates that silently update themselves without permission. Completely unacceptable. This is deplorable, especially for a company that baselessly describes itself as having the "world's most secure mobile communications platform" with no evidence. (No, "ermahgerd, the president of the us america uses a modified version of our completely unrelated, deprecated operating system that he has the source code to" isn't evidence. Neither is "security as a feature".) Thank f**k I was on WiFi when they decided they were going to waste 500MB of bandwidth against my will.

Not only is it a despicable anti-feature that nullifies any security that the platform may have, but, while I'm not a lawyer, I believe it is a felony in the US to modify the software on another's computer without permission. They certainly didn't have my permission, as I explicitly denied automatic updates. Unfortunately they didn't inform me that they had a backdoor to install whatever the f**k they want to at any time by flagging it as "mandatory". They didn't even cover their asses in their EULA. The only mention of automated updates in the EULA states:

Quote:
Unless You, or a third party with whom You have an agreement to provide Your BlackBerry Solution or portions thereof to You, configures Your BlackBerry Solution to preclude the transmission or use of upgrades or updates to the Software, Third Party Software or RIM Services, You hereby agree that RIM may (but is not obligated to) make such updates or upgrades available to You from time-to-time.

Maybe I'm insane, but I think that explicitly disabling automatic updates counts as "preclud[ing] the transmission or use of upgrades or updates to the Software".

Oh, and to "add insult to injury", I momentarily forgot how to take a screenshot, (Too much rum.) so I made the unfortunate decision to try the voice commands.

"Take a screenshot."
"...............................Where would you like to go?"
"I would like you to f**k off and listen to what I say."
"...Here are the results for 'I would like you to f**k off listen what I say.'"
:wall:

On a more practical note, I lost my glasses in a rafting accident two weeks ago, the day after I ordered new glasses. I have the new glasses now, but I can't see a whole lot out of them and they make me feel sick. I have several theories as to why I can't see out of them, but it's going to be a huge pain in the ass to figure out which one is true. Oh, and I made the mistake of telling my mother about this, so she made me an appointment for an eye exam that I can't really afford tomorrow, without my permission.

This made me sadder.

...Also, there's apparently something under my "I" key, so non-island-style keyboards make me unhappy as well.

My coworker and I were talking about the reason why another coworker who is very nasty had to be so nasty towards some people. And he said "She probably has Asperger's Syndrome!" as if that would explain her nastiness. That made me wonder. Could that truly nasty-/mean-natured bítch be one of us!? She is not a well-intended awkward person who comes across as rude. She does intend to put other people down, make fun of people's weaknesses etc. Any way, I realize that's how some (or many) people perceive Asperger's Syndrome.

How many times do I have to tell my mom to write down her passwords before she starts doing it? Another 10,000 times, you think? More? 25,000? How 'bout a million?

No. She still wouldn't.

She's like a monkey sticking a fork in a light socket, again and again and again.
