Me too. Then I started having more stubble. Then I got fat.

Now I look like an obese barbarian.

Was thinking of how to quickly cure my currently very sore soft palate (realistic and unrealistic)
I was thinking “oh maybe an unpoppable bubble of water surronding the soft palate”

Glance (no long thought) at the pros: Water? Water wet. Soft palate wet. Water make soft palate wet. *cue the party poppers and cheers*

Long look at the pros: basically none

Glance at the cons: uncomfortable having unpoppable bubble in the throat

Long look at the cons: condensed naturally slimy skin areas are sensitive and prolonged water exposure could 1. (If the water is not clean) poison you. 2. Waterlog the skin terribly
Also I’m obviously not a medical professional nor trained at all in any medical field

let’s start with the area. What makes the soft palate moist? From my understanding, the skin inside the throat and mouth is oral mucosa (mucus membrane. Other places on and in the body with mucosa are the inside of our eyelids, lining our gastrointestinal tract, the privates, etc) , so in the mouth and throat is lotsa saliva and mucus, so sorta slimy. What’s a fun fact about mucosa? Mucosa is a very sensitive tissue. think how where we contract human-based contagious illnesses and diseases. Snot from the sinuses, saliva from the mouth, eyeball juices (mucus and tears), s*xual fluids and mucus from reproductive organs, blood (which i don’t know enough about). Pretty much all those fluids like to hang around mucosa.

“Ok mucosa is sensitive. But whats the problem if it’s water?” You may ask.
Well lemme tell you my theories and likely consequences.
If the water is not pure (clean) it may host harmful bacteria and germs that would be quickly introduced to the body through the mucosa, thus poisoning you and could lead to fatality if serious and medically untreated.

Prolonged exposure to water: so you know when you’re in a bath or shower for a while and your skin gets all wrinkly and soft? Thaaaat’s due to prolonged water exposure.
The water sees your skin oils and hydration and is like “oho i want that gimme that” thus trading a teeeny tiny bit of your oils and water (think how you’re about 70% water) and doesn’t give anything in return. That’s why your skin becomes awfully dry after being pruny feom prolonged water exposure.
Lets say the water bubble on the soft palate needs to stay there for 12 hours for the palate to no longer be sore at all.

Have you ever had pruny mucosa? No? Well what might happen? Not great things.
The dryness after 12 hours of water exposure could end up being worse than the original sore soft palate we were trying to cure.
Dryness of this level could lead to cracking, or wrinkling. What would cracking in the skin do? If the dryness is severe enough, the cracking could go as deep as the dermis (leading to bl**ding and excessive sensitivity). Prolonged water exposure would make the mucosa softer, then dry, possibly bad enough to cause permanent damage, scarring, and very, very, very, vulnerable. Vulnerable to injury, excessive sensitivity, illness, disease, infection if bad enough, could lead to necrosis and/or de*th.
Not great.

Conclusion? Don’t put an unpoppable bubble of water on mucosa
