The other day I saw a rainbow in the sky. It was good to see something beautiful during such ugly, ugly times.

Thinking of things when I was a kid and how I wanted time to move faster so, I could grow up as an adult and do things and go places. Well I'm that adult now and have learned how to operate a motor vehicle and traveled to different territories across the North American corridor. However, I'm not someone whom wants to relive nor bring back the past as that has been done and can't be returned to only accept in dreams & memories.

Wondering how the homeless people weathered the storms last night and realising how blessed I am to have a roof over my head and people who care about me.

How can things that happened in the past still make you cry? :(

I don't understand the purpose of that. :?

^ It's because it's not in the past.
Your mind has connected your thoughts about an event with an emotion.
So every time you think about that event, your subconscious mind will match the emotion that goes with that event and present it to you as though it's happening right now.
This makes it very much in the present.
And you cry.

Also, the subconscious mind is a dumbass.
It doesn't know what's real and what isn't.

I love this post, Raleigh. Well written and insightful. It helps to keep in mind that lots of my emotions are either about my past or my future, so I can consciously try and move back to the present.

I don't seem to be able to do reciprocal conversation today.
I have no idea how to answer people who address me directly.
Especially when they say something nice.
What's the appropriate response?

Thanks?
You too?
I'm awesome like that?
Panic mildly and go mute?

I'm very aware that I'm the forum's hit-and-run poster at times.

I think we're all a little too self-aware of how we come across on here. I guess that will happen when you have a forum for the socially anxious lol.

In this case you should go with 'I'm awesome like that', because it really was a very nicely written post  .
