It's gone pitch dark over here

I've deleted all the games off my phone. I had the best sleep that I've had in weeks.

NASCAR Euro series is basically just a late-model series on road courses.

What does it say about humanity, when there is pretty much no limit to the dark patterns a Social Media network can get away with, so long as it has "network effects" (vast numbers of users) on its side?

I suppose that's mob rule. I don't blame humanity as such. Rumour has it we were lovely before we evolved out of hunter-gathering. So I think it's humanity + technology that's to blame. Don't know why though. I can use technology without darkening my behaviour, so why can't everybody?

I guess I'm a gatherer because hippies gather flowers.

Back in those hunter gatherer days, Narcissists and Machiavellians (who occur quite naturally; there's no end to their fresh arrival into the teeming masses of humanity) could only gain relatively small platforms to gather the narcissistic supply, which they feed on psychologically, like a vampire feeds on blood (at the expense of others). But technology has permitted them to aspire to much larger platforms, much larger sources of that very same narcisisstic supply. A narcissist or Machiavellian always expands their personal empire as large as possible, conditions allowing: it can't be large enough. Witness the likes of Musk and Trump, for example. Technology just opened the doors for this greatly amplified expansion to vastly increased possible narcissistic supply.

It's not technology which is to blame per se, but rather the narcissists and Machiavellians who will predictably sieze any and every opportunity for maximal narcissistic supply, which technology agnostically and naiively opened the door to.

Negativity is the only logical response to this illogical world.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the start of the Hippie Movement. Don't suggest that it's healthier and easier to live in the present, because I won't.

Hippies and other oddballs and dropouts reminded me that there is good in the world at a time when I was beginning to think there wasn't. I'll never forget them for that.
