They're saying "lest we forget", because I've never known anyone to hate Germans in my lifetime. I was brought up on right-wing beliefs but nobody has ever said a bad word about German people before.

I guess that I was putting too much stock into what my mum told me on the phone nearly 10 years ago. When I insisted on wearing a self-made helmet, my mum asked, "Do you realize how many people still hate Germans because of that stupid war?" That's when I came to the conclusion that the hate must be very rife the first part of November. I don't really care the rest of the year. It's just in November that I care. I don't know why that is. Maybe it was the way my peers treated me that part of the month when I was a child. They'd say "No Shelbys allowed and than after the 4th time, they replaced my name with the word, Nazis. There was one proud boy, two years older than I was who told me to get lost at the Remembrance Day assembly three years in a row. I really looked up to him. Why am I even telling you this stuff? This is stuff that I should be talking to a staff worker at my clubhouse about.

Sounds like the builders are in nextdoor
It's nice to hear a bit of noise on the landing, it's been a bit too quiet since she moved out with all her kids
I miss them

One time I read on an internet forum a non-British person assumed that it's a thing for British people to hate Germans because of WW2. But I can reassure you that hating Germans here is actually unheard of. There are certain countries that the right-wingers here do hold grudges against, but Germany isn't actually one of them. :)

"the old enemies"

I hate that too. They always say it when it's the football

My childhood in Canada was an interesting one.

What did I do to dampen my appetite? I've been mixing innocent packets of Crystal Light Iced Tea with my lemon-lime Mio. I might still be thinking of the death of a friend's brother.

Today I realised I don't own a single pair of jeans of trousers. I don't know how this happened. I want pants. There are moments in life that require pants. But, I hate shopping.

It will all be over tomorrow. I'll be too busy with chores to be sitting at the cenotaph anyways.

A big snow fall today. Hopefully traffic is not too bad on my way to campus today.

I've changed my mind. I'm going to the ceremony. I'll be wearing my Alpine hat to the ceremony. I'm going to show them that 9 years of exposer can change a person and I'm doing it for me. The war is over and this is a chance to show myself as a civilian.

The puppies are enjoying the snow. Chasing snowflakes is fun for them.

Remembrance day is now done and done. It seems that Germany has captured my heart again. I feel like myself once more. I had a few Modish tendencies over the past 11 days, but they're gone now.
