Despite its reputation, it is highly unlikely the Iron Maiden was actually utilized for torture.

Forgive my apparent argumentativeness, but I had thought that use of the Iron Maiden was well-documented.

Kelley Armstrong is my favorite author. In her book The Summoning a young girl named Chloe Saunders learns' that she is a Nercromancer. With the power to summon and raise he dead. She can also talk to ghosts cool huh 8)

Terry Pratchett (Sir Terry ) is my favorite author. His police force (The Watch) has a werewolf, a vampire, a troll, a vampire, a Nac Mac Feegle and the true heir to the local throne.
This is all explained, amusingly, in the Discworld series of books.
His latest book, 'Snuff', pertains to Goblins, specifically, one who plays the harp quite well.

I used to as well, until the dates didn't match up. The Museum of Torture has several documents stating that the Iron Maiden was meant to instill fear, but was never actually used. It was also said to have been used prior to the 19th Century, however the earliest known Maiden was created in the 1800s. Even a (I hate saying this) Google search will show the contradictory history of the notorious device.
As for seeming argumentative, I feel that you were merely inquisitive (no pun intended here), which is not a bad thing at all. After all, it's asking the questions that gets us the answers. :D

This is really interesting. But it's not a fact, it's a link.
Have you ever messed around with BBS?
This is what Google would have looked like back then, in the era of BBS.
Enjoy. (And it works!! !)

It's a much circulated fallacy that in the movie Killdozer, Clint Walker said, "You know, in a hundred years I may just get to like you".
